What is flex version and what is S/W Version??

when people say flash the phone, does it mean upgrading the S/W version??

I wanna flash my phone to R373 which in the first thread said will make the phone less lag....

Where can i get these?

And i read from elsewhere bout converting e398 to ROKR.... Is this just an upgrade of the S/W version??

I would like to upgrade mine to R373.... Does the lagness reduce much? I'm kinda fed up with the lagness on R372..... But i'm afraid of killing the phone while upgrading.... So would like to know if flashing to R373 helps much, i wanna upgrade it if there's a big difference...

I would also like to know if there's any way of boosting the message capacity to beyond 100.....
