QUOTE(Cavino @ Jun 17 2014, 04:05 PM) No damage but if you suddenly have a need to reengage the gear again while slowing down, the cost of gearbox wear would not be worth the miniscule saving. QUOTE(Cavino @ Jun 17 2014, 04:08 PM) This poorfag calculative one coz poor mah. Already calculated whatever miniscule savings will be gone when you need to replace the gearbox due to constant "N" switching or if need to suddenly re-engage gear from "N" while moving. How much do they think they can save, really nominal. Gearbox wears faster! Ok so thats the thing I need to know, wasnt thought about this before. Will avoid such habit after this |

QUOTE(dinnor @ Jun 17 2014, 05:08 PM) Some ppl want more performance oriented ride vs comfort balanced, so change harder suspension, lowered ride, bigger rims, etc. Some ppl want bang ckt at back, so have to be comfort based, soundproof, suspension softer so can help bouncing, no need so much work for the couple to move.... |

QUOTE(jasonloh7906 @ Jun 16 2014, 08:04 PM) considered ok. open window even if not much cost you more petrol than you on aircond. tq for your info.the car is more efficient and give you better fc at 110kmh. 6.6l/100km is somehow not always achievable. driving with light foot, maintaining the car well, provided the car is using new parts and fresh oils and also have very little wear and tear, you can achieve it. but that figure can no longer be achieved by me coz the car somehow are considered to have some age and wear and tear. unless you are sure that not a single parts in the car have wear. suggestion is aircond on, spending few bucks for the better air i think is ok. if you did not change the timing belt and aircond pulley belt before and your car now is at 147k km, you better change it. price wise definitely it will not be cheap. b4 i already changed the belting, now its singing again. i dont know why. may i know what is your daily FC? min to max? average? can anyone here with 140k++ mileage persona share your FC?? somesays that tune back engine & ecu can give better FC? enlighten me about this. tq. QUOTE(break_even @ Jun 17 2014, 05:18 PM) tq for your info. Comparing FC with other is not going to help due to different driving conditions, style, traffic, city vs highway speed ratio, etc.b4 i already changed the belting, now its singing again. i dont know why. may i know what is your daily FC? min to max? average? can anyone here with 140k++ mileage persona share your FC?? somesays that tune back engine & ecu can give better FC? enlighten me about this. tq. If you want to ensure your engine is in tip top condition, just change your engine oil every 5K (not 10K) to clean the engine frequently. Decarbonise the engine, then go clean throttle body. Ensure air filter lasted no more than 20K mileage, change a new filter every 10-15K if possible. Change fresh gear oil every 20K at minimum. Make sure there is no leak in engine. If parts were already worn, go no choice, either live with it or change new ones, a good mechanic can do a thorough check and do recommendation. Go install Lighten Crank Pulley by Works Engineering or Mytheo if you can afford it, if you want to avoid heavy footing during traffic jams. An average of 8-9 liter / 100 km for a balanced mixed of highway and city runs. Pure city runs can go anywhere from 9-12 liter /100km. Heavy footer tak payah cakap, 13 liter and up. Pure highway runs can go about 7+ to 8 liters / 100km. |

QUOTE(break_even @ Jun 17 2014, 05:18 PM) tq for your info. Mine is 143k km mileage.. Its just bullshit to focus on fc when ur car is this old. Ur engine also wear & tear. U can tune ur car hardcore, noo problem at all. Polish ur engine watsoever.. But i cn assure tht after u tune it, ur car feel lighter n ur rite foot becomes gatal to press more harder.b4 i already changed the belting, now its singing again. i dont know why. may i know what is your daily FC? min to max? average? can anyone here with 140k++ mileage persona share your FC?? somesays that tune back engine & ecu can give better FC? enlighten me about this. tq. Then final result... Same fc bro.. Max i think 10l/100km.. Beyond tht, u gotta change to vios alrdy. Better to use ur petrol money for paying vios monthly. |

I've been engaging N while almost close to a stop at traffic lights, engaged N during traffic jams where I'm sure it'd be awhile before I start moving again, close to two years. I haven't had any problems with my gearbox so far, but maybe it's too early to tell

QUOTE(break_even @ Jun 17 2014, 05:38 PM) thanks for your sharing. check fuelly. mine is 130k. if you own a persona, i think you might wanna forget about getting good fc compared to a lot of car. the car is 1.2ton while most car like the vios, city, almera are around 1ton. which is approx 200kg difference. which means that when you are driving alone, it is equal to a vios, city, almera with full load of approx 50kg per person. everytime. i just wondering if my fc too high than others. btw i dont like vios. overrated. like a quote in initial d, you can't change the car basic characteristics which is it weight. unless you go extreme and make the hood, the door, the bumper and everything to carbon fiber. remove spare tyres, use light weight rims, change to light weight glass. and after doing that maybe you can cut down the weight to be the same with vios, city, almera. that is when your fc will start get near to their fc figure. if you really want me to suggest, i suggest getting a diesel, or a hybrid which i am still thinking which to change. nowadays tech are good too. car like mirage, attrage, all are good enough to have twice better fc than our car. |
