Dead Rising 3 is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Vancouver and published by Microsoft Studios. Coming to Steam this Summer. Following in the footsteps of previous installments, players control new protagonist Nick Ramos in third person. They will start by searching for supplies and weapons in order to fight many undead and complete missions. Dead Rising 3 is set in a vast, open world environment which is much larger than the worlds of Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 combined. According to developers, the game can render three times as many zombies on-screen at once as its predecessor. Players will also be allowed to save their progress anywhere, as opposed to limiting saves to toilets. The game will include a "Nightmare Mode" for those who would prefer the traditional time limit and save options. The game will not have load times.

Get it at Greenmangaming instead of Steam. They're already giving a 10% discount, plus you can use the voucher code for a further 20% discount.
Haha didn't know the 20% discounts works with new titles.. Usually it doesn't.. So by applying discounts you get to buy it at 36$.. Cheaper by 1.49USD on Steam. Not that much but better if you have GMG credits.

The voucher will only apply the discount on the already discounted price. As such, leading to a lower effective discount for the game (ie. 27-28%).
Dead Rising 3 for PC is now known as Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Editon, comes with 4 'Untold Stories of Los Perdidos' add-on packs from Xbox One version. still no sign for Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α DLC inclusion.

I just had a go at Dead Rising 3 PC. From the get-go, I immediately disabled the 30fps cap limit. My machine is quite beefy, and I can say it only runs ok on my setup. It can't sustain 60fps or higher. SLI is not supported yet at this time, so there's still hope it will improve in the future. For now though...
Resolution 720p, 900p, 1080p what a crappy "great PC port" in cut-scenes game drop frame rate to 20, when there are 5 ppl only but when lot of zombies it's 30 fps. Skipping movies = frame drop goes to 10 for 3 seconds and back to 30 in game. Typical shitty loadings even before Main Menu I must wait 2 minutes to see PRESS ENTER Also game quality 720/900/1080/Full WTF!!

There are lots of complaints in the steam discussion about this game. I'll probably try the 'ehem'2 version first and see how it goes
Not good to get it now. Looks like a very bad port to me. Wait for them to fix all the problems and get the game on a discount on Black Friday/Winter Sale
just finished fighting the first boss. first impression about the port: not impressed. graphic looks ok, and 30fps doesn't really matter to me. but it still not consistent. got fps drop few times. i don't know if the xbone version looks like this but if it is, it looks terrible for next-gen.
regarding the game itself, like the new combine-on-the-spot style. no need to find workbench to combine weapons like DR2. though I'm not sure if you can combine items without the blueprints like DR2. Coop is good, people cam just jump into your game and not interrupt your progress. you can also set your matchmaking preference so your coop partner can play well with you.
gonna explore more
btw, Afro Nick

fuuuu the new weapon combo is freaking awesome. even got shoryuken combo (he even shouted that when attacking )
you still need the blueprint to combine, unlike DR2. at first , must use exact item to combine, but after upgrade can use any item in same class.
magazine now doesn't use your inventory space anymore, so you can carry as many magazine as you can. but only one can be activated at a time.
already found a bug where weapons will completely gone when thrown and the inventory button not working (when keep pressed, it open and close inventory instead keep it open)
and so far no crash yet

i didn't really care about the timer. heck, if not enough time, just reset the story progress since your character progression is still be carried forward. and the timer moves really slow in normal so got enough time to explore.
Dead Rising 2 and Resident Evil 5 to be moved over to Steamworks next year
QUOTE
It's a mass zombie outbreak on Steamworks - Capcom's undead-smiting hits Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising: Off the Record are all migrating over to Valve's platform "early next year".
These are the latest Games For Windows Live titles to make the switch to a server framework people generally don't despise with every fibre of their being.
They follow Relic's Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising, which completed the same transition last week. GFWL, Microsoft's much-maligned gaming service, shut down earlier this year, leaving several popular multiplayer games without online functionality. Capcom is one developer working to solve the problem, but it's not going to be a swift process.
"Current owners of these PC titles will be transitioned over to the Steamworks versions early next year," reads a post on Capcom's blog. "Once we have specific dates ironed out, we'll have more information about all three titles and their respective launch days so stay tuned."
Capcom has been working to tidy up its much criticized PC port of Dead Rising 3, and a patch that fixes a few of the most common issues has just popped up on Steam.
It's not going to magically sway fans unhappy with the game's various bugs and general poor performance, but it's a start.
I've been playing the PC version for a while now and apart from a brief period where it refused to run at all, I've mostly avoided the save game bugs and crashes to desktop that have plagued other customers. Performance remains middling, but that's not likely to change now. It's a shame, because the game's a lot of fun.
Not Capcom's finest hour, but at least they're attempting to makes things a bit better. Here's the fairly brief patch notes:
Fixed an issue which caused game progress to not save or load correctly when Steam Cloud is enabled. Fixed an issue which made it impossible to select native resolutions on some video card / monitor setups. Fixed an issue which was causing the game to not shut down properly under certain configuration.
Finished the story, story not bad imho. Got a special character appearance if you managed for best ending.
and final boss fight is too easy with combo weapons.
character progression is carried over to Nightmare mode. since I already did most of the exploration stuff in normal mode, don't think got problem with this
Dead Rising film director: It's 'Indiana Jones with zombies'
QUOTE
The Dead Rising digital film in production under Legendary Digital Media has an original storyline with new heroes and a new city, set between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3, director Zach Lipovsky tells SlashFilm. There will be "familiar faces," too, Lipovsky says, before teasing original Dead Rising protagonist Frank West: "I can't reveal too much, but the character has covered wars, you know."
Lipovsky describes the tone of the film as "Indiana Jones with zombies." He wants to recreate the series' massive hordes, even with a smaller, straight-to-digital film budget. "Pretty much every person I know has already emailed me saying they want to be a zombie, so I think we'll be fine," Lipovsky says. "We are also planning a long one-take action shot with hundreds of zombies, which I'm very excited about .... Online there is no ratings board, there is no run time limit, there are no rules. This is an experiment for Legendary, and they have been incredibly willing to take creative risks."
The film, dubbed Dead Rising: Watchtower, will be one 90-minute movie on Sony's streaming service, Crackle, but it will be episodic on other platforms, Lipovsky says. See the cast list below.
Dead Rising: Watchtower cast: Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die, Desperate Housewives) Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time, Intelligence) Virginia Madsen (Sideways, The Number 23) Dennis Haysbert (24, The Unit) Keagan Connor Tracy (Once Upon A Time, Battlestar Galactica)
