nop. they do loads of damage over a period of time. and tanks can build up aggro over that period of time as well.

if you say warlocks are aggro king, you've never seen a fire/elemental mage in action. i can blow a warrior up in before he can land his 2nd swinging hit on me (abilities that do not require next swing do not count).....no sheep beforehand. thats if i'm lucky. plus i've been able to prevent wipes if adds are pulled by killing 1 while kiting the other, and using pots so healers don't have to worry bout me.

I can pull agro faster then a warrior or a warlock. Warlock dps is in long term. Warrior need to build up rage. I just need to hit 3 times and the agro is on me.
And warrior can get it back if i stop for a while
But if i crit 2 times in a row i would have to iceblock to get out of the agro.

But most of the time i let warrior hit for 3 sunders before i start.
And i am a Frost mage. biggrin.gif

Personally I find it nigh impossible to pull aggro as a Frostie unless the tank really sucks. With 3/3 frost channeling and blessing of salvation, that's a 51% threat reduction. You could of course slap on 8/8 Arcanist for further reductions.

So yeah...I usually hit the nuke button after 1 sunder.. 2 sunders if I'm using ZHC laugh.gif

if raid has salv and tank can't keep aggro...the raid sucks. don't even try to reroll horde. horde doesn't have salv....no ez mode

with current aggro reduction talents , mages rarely pull aggro unless going all out.

plus on certain mobs, aggro swapping is more effective than tanking.

some mages do not put talents in aggro reduction because they are hardcore pvpers that pve sometimes.

consider agro as the hate of monster toward you.
if u play in a party..
as tanker..u will want all the agro.. so monster will attack you.
and as other..you may not want to agro more than tanker.
so u cant just go do crazy damage.. must man man..let tanker build up agro first..

nice eh..

Thanks, I think from what you're saying, the tank (Paladdin or Warrior) has more armor and health, so it's better to let monsters have more aggro against them and hit them more while "softies" like mages will stay behind and do massive spell damages. This way, the mages are safer. Correct me if I got it wrongly.

not always true..
give massive damage but do not over agro. (as the topic intended to tell lol)..
as simple as keep the tanker agro always in highest. (slowly damage the mob..more dots..more dots..more dots..)
but this only apply to certain(boss) fight..
keep on playing.. you will understand later biggrin.gif...
nothing teach better than hands on.
