I dislike the whole logo but I like the text. It has a Discovery Channel feel to it.

What's your rationale for the logo?

IMHO, the previous logo is betta than this one.. this just looks amateurish.. the text shouldn't be too colorful. it's lost the Discovery Channel effect.

did you do research on zoo logos before comitting to a design?

I think you should work on the first logo more. The opinions here would definitely help you improve on it.

that's a GREAT IDEA!

i think that'll work very well. the butterfly will be an emphasis but its reasoning could be because malaysia has a certain butterfly species only found here. then you couple you 4 colored 'hibiscus' but tone down the outlines more. I can visually see it now.

anyway, since you have to start on the flyer just make sure the consistency is in it and the text should be readable. not something with very green background and later black text. not exactly readable.
