Thanks a lot! I can only access USA Netflix right now but looks like this VPN knows what they are doing. Hope they can fix it asap so that I can access Japan Netflix too  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

What's the upgrade schedule like? I'm still waiting for the upgrade...

Metropolitan Square (Block C), Damansara Perdana - my friend staying at the same block already got upgraded. I'm anxious to find out when it's happening for us (I'm just a tenant; the Time Fibre line is under the house owner's name).

Edit: Currently on 20Mbps package (RM 179 / month)

I still couldn't get my TP-LINK AC1750 wireless router to work. (Feeling meh...)

Managed to get connected to TIME (got the WAN IP, connected status), but no Internet access.
The last resort is to clone the MAC address of the first pc that is first connected to TIME (which is the laptop of the technician that do the setup), which I don't have.

What are the things I need to do to get Internet access?

I think we as a user should make use of the fast speed by installing NAS / Media box

NAS can do download, connect to IP camera, sync your wireless devices with auto backup, host local website, provide ftp sharing, and many more feature that we can imagine.

Beside this, media box is a must for us to view streaming video, live TV etc.

But for the problem for existing commercial NAS is, SLOW LAN speed, EXPENSIVE, LOW spec on the HW.

And media box is their FW/software might take ages to update. They are cheap but after 1 year of purchase, there will be none support. If the software might no longer can use maybe in 2 to 3 years time.

I am thinking to build more cheaper NAS, media box with more powerful HW/SW features... with linux/android/open source with unlimited opne source update

Just want to know LYN audience buy this idea?

Thanks

i'm just curious hows the latency is like before i switch.

i know the condo i lived in already has TIME. i just want to make sure i dont regret my decision.

p/s: i think customer service anywhere in malaysian telco is appalling. unifi tenchnical support guys occasionally gives me brain cancer.

Hi, currently I'm using the default ZTE router, and only getting wifi speed of 20-30 mbps on my iphone. If I upgrade my router to DIR 850, do you think wifi speed will improve, at least reach 50mbps?

I strongly agree with you as i am doing it right now. I DIY my own NAS box based on Xpenology and media box based on OpenELEC. icon_rolleyes.gif
