What guidelines will u set for new video game console to develop? Like future video game console. Need some facts& ideas, for my project resources, thx!

Go buy the book "The Xbox 360 Uncloaked"....i really think the insight story of microsoft xbox to xb360 development will help your project.

new console? hmm... actually my ideal is a subscription based set-top box. (techonology-wise like xbox) maybe partner it with a cheap portable platform (techonology-wise like GB SP). and no (or very low) licensing fees. the casual gamers market still have lots of room to grow.

nintendo seldom sell its hardware at a loss (maybe marketing costs alot?) yet it has no problems charging licensing fees to 3rd party developers.

Things that u need to think of (my silly idea):
- console name - console spec = high end or middle end or low end, price(console and game), size (design) - target market (ur marketing strategy) - easy to develop or not - special feature compare with other pesaing(consoles).. |

ok ok, my other idea, implement VR head mounted display + gyro controller/gloves... imagine.. driving cars.. piloting aircraft.. play an FPS.. twist camera/views by just turn ur head.. and STEREO SCOPIC views
