Oh, so you're a pvp enthusiast.
I recommend you to
Eve Online if you don't mind paying monthly subscription fees (about RM40-50 each month depends on currency exchange rate and the package you get). However, you can opt to pay using in-game currency once you're able to earn enough to do it (takes about 3 months to start doing that on average players, you can do it on your first month if you're dedicated enough and lucky in exploration)
About pvp:
♦ It's a hardcore pvp type. Anything you loss is a
REAL LOSS. Your ship get destroyed means it's destroyed for good. You'll need to either build a new one or buy from market.
♦ Pvp is
allowed anywhere. There's the so called 'safe' high security systems (terms in other games: location/zone/map) in Eve for new or non-pvp players to roam in. However, pvp is still allowed with different
consequences depends on situation. For us veterans, no system is really safe in Eve. It's how you deal with it and take appropriate measures to counter aggressors.
♦ There are players up to 10 years old here. However, that doesn't mean you can't compete with them in terms of pvp. The only advantage older players have is their versatility in fielding ship types and experience. If you have what it takes to overcome the initial learning curve of Eve, you're set to dominate even veteran players with the right combat strategy. [In most other games, players with lvl 100 equip dominates those with lower level equip. In Eve, a capital ship could not even touch frigates given the frigate pilot outmaneuver the capital pilot. With the right fittings (equipment) on frigates, they can hold down the capital ship from escaping until reinforcement of DPS ships arrives to finish of the capital pilot.]
♦ There's solo pvp, small gang pvp and large 'blob' of fleet pvp (up to thousands of players engage in warfare), each requires different combat strategy.
As opposed to the theme-park styled game-play of mmo (where you follow the game storyline and do quest till you reach end-game or somewhat), this is more like a social gameplay of mmo. You'll be most likely bored of playing Eve if you play alone
(the space is vast and lonely). However, playing with other players and work together towards a common goal, you'll get to taste the fun where a lot of other uninformed new players missed out.
Don't get misinformed by the mass media that Eve players are all brutal and out to bully, cheat and scam you outright (yes, scamming is legal in Eve as long it does not involve real money trading and some other conditions). Those are some of the minorities doing that catch the media attention and get "advertised" everywhere while the "good citizens of New Eden" silently offer their help in the background. Just like the real world, the rare major accidents and criminal incident always hog more attentions on newspaper.
