I've personally visited Lily Handicraft and also Jet Sun Handicraft, both in Sungei Wang Plaza. Both are very helpful and friendly. The cost for knitting needle varies according to sizes and also material. If you just want to start out and don't want to spend too much, pick the metal (aluminum) needles. They cost around RM 10 per pair. If you prefer, there's also the bamboo version. Pick that if you have more moolah
For yarns, they also varies according to the material and quality. The cheapest one and available in abundance is acrylic. A bit rough on texture. Range from RM 1 to RM 10 per ball. Other types of material also available. For example a ball of wool yarn i bought cost me RM 28. *Shudder* Again, if you are just starting out, pick a good quality acrylic. It's cheap, but it's a good starting material.
Happy knitting!
