every media already expected that iOS8 will not introduce anything revolutionary and they were right.

iOS8 basically gives the iPhone what it should have but with a different interface, that's all.

to me, overall iOS8 should give better user experience.

i think everyone used to iOS 7 which introduces lots of new features

i heard lots of "nothing new" on every single new iOS before iOS 7

If you use all Apple hardware , "continuity" feature is quite a good concept . Start a imessage in iphone and continue working on it with ipad or mac, answer a call on a macbook air , but you have to get the whole package for it to work, most people just android phone and ipad air.

By the way lol at the eddie cue karaoke photo.

Very disappointed with how Tim Cook presents everything. He doesn't sound excited nor confident in whatever he's presenting. So sad he's not as charismatic as Steve Jobs. Steve can just stand on the stage, do nothing and smile, and people will clap nonstop for him.

Anyway back to topic. iOS8, what a letdown.

I thought Apple was the revolutionary people who create things that we never thought we needed. Like changing the entire smartphone concept to fully touchscreen or changing the plastic design to sleek glass.

Now after Tim Cook took over it's like a rat chasing mouse game. Just developing things that other people already made - Push To Talk (whatsapp, TalkBox), calling over computer (Skype) and changing keyboards interface (Android). Its nice to have all these, but what's the next big thing? What is the next feature that can put iPhone above other smartphones, besides just hardware upgrade.

But nonetheless they made a breakthrough in Swift, new programming language. Not a programmer myself but I think this is what developers would love, which means they can make new apps faster and perhaps better.

On another note, so sad they killing off support for iPhone 4. I'm currently using that lol.

this. for me a new BIG number should hint for alot of changes to the system. if its only add-on features to the existing iOS, its best juz to continue the current number.

else, we will reach iOS 10 in the next 2 years but not much changes. apple need to optimize the iOS more for battery efficiency or come up with larger battery capacity for the next phone.

this aside, i'm more interested in the 'Metal' API for dev later this week.

In fall according to Apple, which should be around Sep-Oct. 2014
Most likely together with the anticipated iPhone 6.

It is able to pull data from supported health-related apps and consolidate it all into one.
This allows you to view all your health data in one app.
Quite impressive if you're really into health.

I believe the integration is not enabled yet tongue.gif...the app is there but it doesn't do much. I guess we need other apps to be updated to support IOS 8 first before using the health app.
