Me : Hi, may I speak to bla bla bla
HR : Speaking.
Me : I'm so and so. I'm afraid that I won't be taking the job offer.
HR : Alright. Bye
Me : Sorry. Bye.

*toot* *toot* *toot*

Fast and simple. tongue.gif

I don't think it is nice to reconsider the job offer after you rejected it.

not a company though...my previous boss call me to help him back after i fire him(run away never tell him)coz he cheated me.

he agreed to pay me this sum of money after the probation period and if i proove that i am capable to performe the job well.

after the probation period and i did performe the job well, he dint increase my salary with the reason i am still new and there are a lot to learn, wtf thats not what we have agreed. so to 'thank' him i left him during the busy period without telling him.

after few month he called me he need me back and agreed to pay me higher than my current job and will not mind the case that i left him without telling, i said i will think 1st and i will call him back, but i never did. he is a jerk.

Just a polite, "I have found a better prospect, thank you" will do. Who knows maybe they propose better? But if you already reject, taking it back is no good lah. Becos your image is somehow negative already (even if the employer is desperate to grab someone to fill the post)...

well, not all cases that you reject an offer is because the company is not good or bad. may be you got other better option/offer in mind.

but not all things go smoothly, for instance, you go for 2 interviews, company A is offering better job and salary, but long distance and long hour.company B offer lower salary but shorter hour and short distance. both of them give you some time to think about it. ok,you go home and think for one week and decide to go for A.before that you call B saying you reject their offer coz of bla bla bla this A company is better money. then when you call this A,they saying that they already hired one better candidate. you are angry but there's nothing you can do about it.

that's why when you reject one's offer dont give them excuse like, i have accepted other company because they pay me higher/Better benefits than you can offer. think carefully before you want to reject. and if you really want to reject think carefully what to say so you dont hurt/Insult them, becoz you never know you might consider them again.
