depends on your budget. the hifidelio (=olive in US) starts at US$1K for a 80GB model (Olive Musica)
how much do you want to invest in this?

I am thinking of buying new CD player. My initial budget is RM 3k but after looking at the Hermstedt Hifidelio Pro Music Server 160GB, i think i can increase it to RM 6k coz i think in the long run, i can save some money using the downloaded mp3 or flag file. hh i guess if after i bought this unit, i dont need to shop for CDs. What do you think?

you can build yourself a decent media server/htpc with wireless connection, much larger storage capacity, and a decent sound card for less than 1kusd. and if you have 6 k to spend, you can even add in a decent DAC.
the only thing i like about the Olive stuff is the look. No idea wth is the puny lcd for...you can barely see anything from far.

i'd go along with alamaklor - 6k gets you a lot of PC and a bigger hard disk than the hifidelio. the downside is the pc doesn;t look as nice as the hifidelio

I'm looking to convert my pc to a htpc myself...budget wise..with a good casing...no more than RM1600 without hdd (I've got over 500gb space...that runs a little less than 1k) if you need only like 80gb to 160gb like the olive...that's even cheaper. and do not forget, with a htpc...you can watch movies on it...with the olive and other music jukebox...you cant. if you want to build a pc strictly for music only...you can really do it for cheap and it will not look worse than the other jukeboxes...(unless you really really really dig how those jukeboxes look ) This post has been edited by AlamakLor: Aug 10 2006, 02:06 AM

After reading your comments, i have much more wider choice. You are right and i hope to build a pc with mozart looks and with much more features ,, and save my $$. Beer from me man. Susah cari makan and saving lagi susah..

is the mozart sx out? I'm stil waiting for it to launch over here and I anticipate the VFD version to cost over 250CAD (RM812). Pretty damn expensive if you ask me but it looks good I wonder if the remote works with other software, i despise proprietory software (imedia? wth? ) foobar + mediplayer classic/vlc is all I need please post up your rig once you assembled it , i'd imagine it looks much better than olive's overpriced music server.

RM 812 ?? this is well above my budget, hope to source for "hi-fi looks" computer casing below RM 500. Any recommendation?

most of them are pretty expensive...you can check out coolermaster's casings but imho they look like cheapo VHS player. ei c'mon man, if u had RM6k to spend earlier...why skim on casing now...I say go for it! you can just power ur pc with celeron D/amd, slap a fanless heatsink or maybe a zalman on it...it should be dead quiet since they dun dissisipate much heat
