I have been using this filtration system for a while and already had my first cartridge replacement when the alarm triggered. I understand we can continue using it while ignoring the alarm but for how long before it is necessary to have it replace?
The cartridge itself cost around RM500, is there any cheaper source? A search on Amazon yield the same price if not more expensive when factor in shipping charges.

QUOTE(azihan @ Jun 1 2014, 10:30 AM) How long have u been using this filter. Normally it might take 1 to 1.5 year to replace the catridge. Had the system for about 2 years, had cartridge replacement once and it's going to expire soon, the water at my apartment can be slightly dirty at times thus will dirty the filter faster. Do you replace yours once the alarm trigger or you let it run for another month? This post has been edited by Xccess: Jun 1 2014, 10:35 AM

QUOTE(azihan @ Jun 1 2014, 10:40 AM) I have been using this water filter for 1 year and 2 months, currently just left 1 bar on its change the filter indicator but have yet sound any alarm. May be this filter life span up to 1.5 year, summore i do not have any external water filter. I don't have external filter too. Mine also left 1 bar but already standby a new cartridge, now thinking if I should replace it once alarm trigger or use it for another month.

No intention of putting an external filter. Just want to know how E-Spring owners usual practice when comes to changing cartridge.

QUOTE(supersound @ Jun 1 2014, 12:49 PM) Lots of people never try to understand on effectiveness of an external sand filter. No doubt a sand filter can't filter out dissolved chemicals, but it still can filter out undissolved solids which in other sense prolong the more expensive internal units. If you install the external filter and the internal filter still gives alarm after that same as never install 1, then it means the alarm are preset to give alarm no matter the element are still good or not. I fully understand your point. I'm moving to a new unit next year, no point installing a external unit now in my current place.

QUOTE(*StarGazer* @ Jun 1 2014, 05:24 PM) I'll change once it beeps. U don't wanna see how dirty it is and the thought of drinking direct from it if unchanged. Mine usually abt 1 yr b4 change. Was told Outdoor filter will help prolonge amway's cartridge life. Noted, in this case I will have it replace once alarm triggers. External filter definitely prolong E-spring's filter, I will have one build in my new unit nx year.

QUOTE(azihan @ Jun 2 2014, 09:00 AM) me too.. just drink direct. Ya, don't have to get all paranoid in purifying everything we consume. We're expose to all kinds of elements from low level radiation and environmental contaminants daily.
