I have a friend who worked for several international carrier companies such as Fedex,DHL etc for years. He told me that as Malaysia is not a priority country like Japan,Singapore,China or USA etc, most of those companies have very limited personnel/team for local delivery in Malaysia, they are mainly focusing on cross-border services. That's why Xiaomi could only provide limited stocks every time and separate the batches into Fedex and UPS because neither of them can complete the task by its own. They also need to outsource some of local delivery jobs to their local partners(ie. nationwide express) to try their best to meet the timeframe.
I heard that Xiaomi is trying their best to setup a warehouse in Singapore as soon as possible to meet the demand from SEA. Once it's in the service, I believe a lot of issues could be solved. And at that time,Xiaomi will bring more accessories to the online store. QUOTE(sOuLx @ Jun 5 2014, 11:23 PM) Nvidia also support 3G band in malaysia, BUT mi3 Nvidia version is for td-wcdma version. maybe it's their marketing strategy in China. It's not mainly a marketing strategy. In China, there are 3 mobile service providers:China Mobile,China Union and China Telecom.China Mobile is using 2G GSM and 3G TD-SCDMA.China Union is using 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA,China Telecom is using 2G CDMA and 3G CDMA2000. Snapdragon processor has integrated with 2G GSM/CDMA and 3G WCDMA/CDMA 2000 which can support 2 out of 3 of mobile service providers, but no integrated TD-SCDMA solution. Thus, in order to perform an almost similar performance with the same design,Nvidia version comes to be the solution. So in Malaysia, only Snagdragon version of Mi3 could be using under both 2G and 3G,while Nvidia version could only be using under 2G. |
