I was a Samsung Galaxy S2 for the past two years. I just switched to Xiaomi this week. Never miss my old Samsung now.

I came from the galaxy s3. My phone mostly for browsing web, whatsapp, line Facebook etc etc so far I don't have overheat issues as I don't game much. Few points after a week of using.

1) battery life is way better than my S3. I can be out on 3G and have 30% when I go to bed and charge.
2) Fairly smooth, not the smoothest but when I bought my S3 it was suppose to be super smooth and not lag but few days after you install all your apps it bound to lag a bit. But mi3 more of a slight delay than a lag.
3) touch screen not as responsive as the s3 sometime I need to press twice, never had the problem with s3. BUT then again I have the rm10 screen protector on. That might affect it maybe.
4) screen a but yellowish, Samsung amoled color is much balanced and much vibrant and saturated. Then again it's good enough for me the mi3.
5) Build quality is solid, make my s3 feel like plastic toy
6) camera a bit off for me, picture color a but dull but then again phone pics are mostly for social media and its good enough.

And to think that is only RM889 makes it an extremely good buy. It's now my primary phone, and it feels like a flagship 2k phone. It's not perfect but you have to remember it is only RM889. A lot ppl complain this and that and compare them to S5 , M8 and they forget that it costs 1/3 of the price.

The stigma with china phones, so far it is selling like hot cakes in China, the Singaporeans (who are normally very picky) are also all crazy over it, so I think the quality is good. Have not heard of it exploding or what so far
