QUOTE(Cha3m @ May 31 2014, 04:02 PM) So, I know about this firmware long time ago but I just cant decide if I should install the firmware. Im more into taking pictures, what are the advantages of using Magic lantern compared to stock firmware? I tried googling the comparison picture, Im still unsastified. Source: http://www.magiclantern.fm/index.htmlWhich camera are you using ? I find the build in intervalometer and HDR capabilities really useful. Even does bulb ramping for timelapse.

QUOTE(Cha3m @ Jun 9 2014, 08:09 PM) Im currently using 700D with kit lens. I actually tried installing it and there's way too many settings with word that I don't even know. I ended up changing various stuff only to end up worse since magic lantern doesn't offer default setting function. Do you have any comparison pictures that I can look at? Magic lantern saves most of its settings on the SD card. Just reformat and reinstall magic lantern and everything will be find. Try looking at some youtube videos, that will help.

QUOTE(em0kia @ Jun 11 2014, 06:03 PM) hmm, is it that good to have the magic lantern? i would like to try it but i am afraid that once i install and regret about it, i cant install back the original canon firmware. plus, wiith the installation of magic lantern, will it delete some of the ori 550D features? 1. The moment you format your memory card, you'll get your ori canon firmware 2. It'll never delete/remove your ori 550D functionalities There is a small chance you may brick your camera(but even then, it's fixable). As long as you don't do stuff like switching your camera off during the update process (1 off), it should be fine. As for is it that good ? It depends on your needs. If you don't need it, don't install it. This post has been edited by LegendLee: Jun 11 2014, 06:51 PM
