QUOTE(The Punisher @ Sep 3 2006, 06:05 PM) Active Virus Shield is the best free AV i've used so far in my battle against the evil Worm.Brontok.AA virus. It has password protection for locking the settings, quick online updates & a simple GUI. My only negative comment about it is that I can't manually select the file types that I want to scan in the manual scanner settings. I highly recommend this AV to anybody & everybody that has a Worm.Brontok.AA infection. I installed AVS today replacing Avast. It detected and removed a group of Worm.Win32.Brontok.n infected files in my thumbdrive.

I use my WinXP machine as non-admin user. Lately AVS is giving me a weird problem. It seems to be running according my processes list. But it is not appearing in my tray icon. So I can't open AVS control panel at all.
Everything seems fine when I login as administrator.
So bear in mind if you are a non-admin user. It might give you problems. I have yet to find out whats wrong with my AVS, let alone solve it.

QUOTE(darude87 @ Nov 5 2006, 03:51 PM) i just downloaded it and using it now, does it come with firewall? AVS doesn't come with a firewall. Purely an antivirus.
