I'm new here and I always come to this forum whenever I want to search information about certain jobs and companies.

Yesterday I received a phone call from White Crow Research, a recruiter company I think located in Mumbai because the caller sounds like an Indian male. This is the company's website -> http://www.whitecrowresearch.com/

He found my profile from Jobstreet and said that he's looking for a candidate to apply for a well-known O&G company in Cyberjaya.

I am currently working as a Software Developer with 2 years of experience. During the phone call, I asked him about the job position and he said that the O&G company did not send them a full detail about the job description but they only know that the position is IT related i.e Business Analyst, System Analyst, Software Developer, etc. Then I asked him to send an email with the description, 5 minutes later I received the email from him.

The content of the email is about applying for IT Graduate Programme. So I'm a bit confused here.
Ok, my question is:

1. Does anyone ever heard anything from this company? Any opinion?
2. Do a well-known O&G company hires a recruiter to find candidates to apply for the graduate programme or any job position?
3. Do you think it is worth to try and trust a recruiter company?

OK my friend... let me tell you...

an indian guy called me n he said calling from india.
and then we went through like phone interview as he emailed me earlier asking whether i am interested to join one of the OnG company in Malaysia.

at the beginning he only said one of the OnG company n the position was IT graduate program. then he said i passed the phone interview and told me that the OnG he mentioned was SHELL! so i was so excited that time coz it is my dream to work in shell.

so i received additional email asking me to complete shell application. the weirdest part is, i need to undergo exactly all stages like normal application (assessment part 1 part 2, f2f, srd). then i wonder so i email him again asking what the different if i apply directly to shell. and he said no different i still have to undergo all stages and i was like bcoz i was about to apply shell even he didnt call me.

so my thought is, i think they r some sort of recruiter. in case u r confirm with the position they will take some credit.
thats why they record ur conversation and take ur application reference number as a proof.

i wonder if theres a salary deduction for those who confirmed.

hopefully, theres someone who can enlighten me more as i also want to know! hehehe

Yes, same thing happened to me. Th phone call is recorded and it is Shell and he asked me to give him the 8 digit number and cv to him after I've done with my application. And I am wondering the exact thing like you, why I just don't apply direct to shell?

May I aske you when did this person call you? So are you going to ignore it?

Anyone else have any information?

pls dont ignore.. they are genuine headhunters that Shell hired...

i already clarify regarding this with the HR...

i think he called me like 2 months ago if not mistaken...

but yes, he will get some credit if u are hired... im not sure whether theres salary deduction or not... but i dont think so... anyway.. if have i still wanna join SHELL!!!

dont worry mate... they are Shell's one of the headhunters (outsourced)

besides, we should worry about the application first! if got the offer already, then we worry later

Oh thanks you guys. Ive been headhunted by this recruiter as well, through linkedin specifically.

They offered me Geomatic Engineering job prospect, after I response with my CV and qualifications they replied with different jobscope.
Been wondering to which company they're sending my CV to, now I got it all figured out.
