Hi violin/ viola players,

I hv noticed i'm beginning to get a mark on my neck as i hv increased my parctise hours. Not only is the mark annoying (making ppl say I need more moisturization!), it hurts at times.
I'm guessing it is because of friction with the chinrest. The hardness of the chinrest also makes my jaw hurt at times. They should come up with cushioned chinrests tongue.gif
Anyone else has the same issue?

I've actually tried this some months back, the mark on my neck is less obvious now and it is more comfortable especially when playing for long.

The adhesive may not be as strong after a few months but should last longer if not removed and just left on chin rest. Probably time for me to look at obtaining another.

Just saw the page you shared, never knew someone local is selling GelRest. I had mine shipped from US as I couldn't find any local seller at that time.

Thanks for the share!!

just use handkerchief to cover, some ppl just have more sensitive skin, but pimple(s) at that spot is the worst omgggggg

if jaw painful could be your chin rest too high, or incorrect playing posture

Tried handkerchief.
1) Hot in Malaysia weather!!!
2) Very mafan, have to keep putting on, taking off. Sometimes accidently drop then dirty. Sometimes leave behind after rehearsal rclxub.gif
3) Absorbs sweat...gets gross after a few uses.

Using GelRest already. Bought from www.stringinstincts.com

So far... thumbup.gif rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

Remedy for arthrities...unfortunately not sad.gif
