Indon pirates struck and hijack a tanker off batam island yesterday, that's 11 incident this month on indonesian waters.. not counting those happens at the border of msia and sgpore

I know tni-al is boasting about their new navy ships, but cant they do something about this??

This is the incident that I'm talking about, happens off 4km north of batam islands, in indonesian territory.

Tanker carrying load of diesel fuel hijacked, brought close by the pirates to somewhere near the natuna island which is east of tioman before releasing the ship.

Just realised US currently has 3 tarawa class amphib assault ships with capability for helis, tanks,apcs,1000+ troops and 6 harriers and they're planning to get rid of it by scrapping.. Why dont we propose to US to buy 1/2 for amphib capability since we setting up marine base at bintulu can probably get it cheap and get better relationship with US and fulfil our mpss requirement with an even better ship. Gud idea??

It is most likely due to the way we structure our budget on a 5 years basis.
as currently large protion of the annual budget being use to paid existing and ongoing procurement.
Unless the government willing to push the procurement budget higher in the overall annual budget.

The Boeing Company, Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $234,700,000 undefinitized contract action to procure long lead items for the production and delivery of 24 AH-6I aircraft, initial spares package and ground support equipment.

Fiscal 2014 other funds in the amount of $115,003,000 were obligated at the time of the award.

Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2016. Bids were solicited with one received.
