QUOTE(synzo @ May 29 2014, 11:22 AM) i just check the box again, now you mentioned the user guide manual if you don't have that, just go to any mobile phone shop and ask for sim card adapter. beside 3 sim adapter, it also comes with a pin ejector tool.i am missing both user guide manual and the tool as well |

QUOTE(edwardlys @ May 29 2014, 06:39 PM) why sometime i unlock the phone, it will pop out a medium picture of mi3 phone? it pop out very fast, i can't see it properly as well, but i can see a mi3 phone in the middle... thats the pocket detection feature I think, have been discussed before. you may have blocked the proximity sensor with your fingers but I'm not really sure |

QUOTE(hazril @ May 30 2014, 12:24 PM) why i cant root using the method on the 1st page??after doing as instructed,my phone downgraded the version itself...currently on v14 after root it goes back to v8...luckily la our phone got 2 system... it does not downgrade your android version, the script merely changes the version number to v8 so that miui thinks it is a developer rom thus giving you access to root. |

just download root checker app from play store. if it's rooted, perhaps you've flashed the developer rom instead.

how to write external media on kitkat.
1. Look for the platform.xml file in the system/etc/permissions folder. Make a backup before editing. 2. Find <permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"> 3. Add <group gid="media_rw"/> under it. 4. Check and set the proper file permission. 5. Reboot. |

QUOTE(suntzulee @ May 30 2014, 04:33 PM) system files have special permission. if you use root explorer or root browser, select the file and hold until you get a menu. look for Permission. system file should only have 4 checkbox checked (3 on left column and 1 top on middle column). I can't guarantee this would work on mi3 though but it worked on others. |

QUOTE(suntzulee @ May 30 2014, 05:10 PM) ok let me clear this cloud as precise as possible...when i connect a pendrive/memory card to mi3 via OTG cable, mi3 detected it as OTG usb under root explorer...now OTG usb folder is not writeable at all. I try to change permission but it doesnt allow me saying "Some SD card not allow to change permissiom". like I said, you cant copy files to otg usb folder because kitkat does not allow you to. thats where the system file fix comes in. in theory, that platform.xml control the write access so by adding that line, hopefully it will grant the write access to any external media. to do this, you have to modify a system file. after you edit a system file, the permission settings will change. thats why you need to change it back. So, i cant copy files to this OTG usb folder or create a folder in it....hope i explain everything clear here...Else i really dunno how to say anymore... |
