The "unpaid" units are sent back into the system and people who are camping the website and pressing F5 at the right time are able to purchase them once the orders are cancelled or expired. This is why some people were able to get units long after the promo ended or within 24 hours of the previous sale. Xiaomi is well known for attempting to keep costs low which is why they produce units on demand and don't stock inventory like the bigger companies such as Apple or Samsung. This is why we can get a top-tier phone like the Mi3 which is pretty much equivalent to the S4 for less than half the price.

Same here. Chrome Autofill + Direct add to link helped me to get 2 PBs despite the fact that I was close to 6 minutes late to the party

I got Fedex. Still processing though since they've provided a tracking number but haven't given the package to the shipping company yet.
