Hi there
There's a secret to playing the 5153 at right volume without losing much headroom/gain
See that pedal on the top right ? That's EHX Signal Pad - supposedly a passive attenuator but not really..
Only works as I wanted when placed right in the signal chain.
Guitars > 5153 > FX send > Fryette Valvulator > EHX Signal Pad > Delay (usually on) > Bass Octave (usually off) > Comp > FX return > cab
Basically I can play metal around 2-3am, no complaints (yet)
Damn. awesome amp bro. But I feel the sweet spot still depends on the amount of speaker movement, because my Krank also doesn't sound nice until it reaches that fairly loud volume. There's a secret to playing the 5153 at right volume without losing much headroom/gain
