I don't have any external amp for my T1, and I'm not planning to have one, I am still content with what it is right now, although it has been almost a year.
Well maybe if having another amp would benefit it alot... will it? All I can think about a perk having another amp is my desk will look more grand and audiophile-like, haha

Nah honestly for me the different amp only gave me a different sound signature from my current headphone inventory. I can't detect any better nuance, timbre, tonality, those sort of improvements. It only sounds different to me, not an upgrade (but of course YMMV, I do believe others have better more sensitive hearing). But if you do have headphones that scale well upon amplification then those would most probably benefit from amplification. I bought this amp for future upgrades should I get better headphones, also my previous turntable had a bright cartridge so it was pretty hot n bright.

Whether a better amp will give you much improvement is as what penmarker mentioned, also depends on the potential of the headphones. Good that you have prepared for the future upgrades.
Some headphones just doesn't improve much even pairing with good amp. Some headphones that are harder to drive well , can really give you a very different sound and performance after pairing with suitable amp.
Especially big cans like Sennheiser HD600/ 650, AKG K701, Beyerdynamic DT880 and so on. Some low impedance headphones such as Planars, Grado, Denon, Audio Technica AD series also need good amp to release the potential.

A lot of headfi-ers also tend to misunderstand and thought that getting the loud volume meaning able to drive well. Volume is about adding the gain, but it doesn't equal to the driving ability and how good is the ability to control the music well.

How do you set the gain? Is it +16Db?

If only once a while like this, I think could be the electric source problem. Sometimes in day time, the electric source not so clean, too many people using it. Tube product is also more sensitive to electricity.

Bought two Miniwatt E188CC this week, looking forward to have them soon. One is Dario, the other is Philips.
Dario is untested, cheaper, but expensive shipping. Philips tested ok, a bit expensive, shipping cheaper. Both total about RM250, a lot cheaper than it would be for normal purchases.

Glorious reviews by users for the Aune T1.

I already have the ifi nano iCAN, but given the size and form factor, I'm looking for a smaller and more portable amping solution to be used with my smartphone.

The Aune B1 seems like a good choice. I will be using it mainly on my IEMs, would the B1 be a good choice? I read that it have a very high gain for an IEM, which is my main concern. Also, sound impressions anyone? And is it any better than the ifi nano iCAN?

There are a few ways.
You can use it as a pre-amp for powered speakers. Just plug it in the way you normally would a headphone, set the volume control halfway on the speakers, and control the powered speakers' volume using the volume knob on the T1.

Or you can use the RCA out at the back, that way you only use the DAC section. You would need to have a separate speaker amplifier to power the speakers. If you powered speakers have volume control (they usually do), then you're all set. If not then you would have to plug them in as previously mentioned.

If the DAC section isn't better than the sound card in your PC/laptop, then what's the point of having it in the first place as a DAC? tongue.gif

e88cc, ecc88, 6922, 7308, 6DJ8...etc
Tubes around RM200 for me is good enough already. Recommend Amperex Bugle Boy ecc88 (1960s big O getter), Amperex 7308, Simens e88cc A6, Tesla 6922 code 32.

It would be a good upgrade from E10k to T1 Mk2. Sonically improvement and a greater versatility with tube rolling.
