This thing inefficient and is a waste of electricity due to its design

It uses the room cold air to cool down its hot condenser coil and compressor, the heat is then thrown out as hot air. Means cold air in the room also get thrown outside used for cooling compressor and hot condenser coil. Only half gets back in the room.

A split unit hot condenser and compressor is cooled by blower fan of the outdoor unit. No wastage of using cool air in the room to cool compressor down. Cool air remains in the room, faster cooling more efficient.
