Hello guys. Im ram. Been interested in quadcopters/drones lately. But still not too sure on what exactly to buy. Im kinda new to this hobby, so advice and suggestions is very much appreciated.

First off, i have a cheap ass quad i bought last year. Some predator quad which looks like a jet. Did not come with a manual. So im still figuring out the controls.

Im looking to get a quad with the features listed below.

1) Easy to operate.
2) Good range
3) Flight time at least 15mins beyond
4) FPV camera
5) GPS
6) Can use android to control/ take pics.
7) Flight modes - flip, return to home, hover, etc

* I know the best is to DIY, but my knowledge with this is too little as of now.

Below are a few models that i've been looking into. If anyone has any infor/review on these models, kindly let me know.

1) Eachine Blade 185 RTF

2) Eachine Racer 250 RTF

3) Hubsan H501s FPV

4) Walkera Runner Advance gps 250

I think the Hubsan is amazing as its all-in-all package for a beginner. My worries are that the parts are probably not replaceable? And i cant upgrade the battery if needed.

As for Eachine/ walkera - these are apparently racer drone. Do they come with beginner settings/speed settings so that its easier for me to learn the controls?
And if i want to use my android to control these, how can i do so?

And regarding the li-po battery. Most of the racer drone comes with 1500mah 3s batts. Can i just upgrade them to say 2500mah? Is this possible?

Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for the advice.

The best way is search these quad at youtube & watch the videos. You will be able to learn pros & cons of these quads. This will help you choose which one you want to get.

The parts usually replaceable. IMO, you should developed your skill before jumping to hobby grade quads. Even though these quads have advanced features, you still can crash & destroy them if you don't have experience & skills. Better get cheaper quads & practice with them. Developed your skills first.

Yes, you can replace & upgrade the lipo battery.

I bought this drone online for rm 170. Which was quite a bargain. I didn't come with the camera though.

Bear in mind, this is my first drone and im very much impressed with it. Its a beauty and built quality is good.
Flying this drone was quite straightforward. With the low speed its easy for a beginner to practice flying a drone. As far as im concerned, its speed is adequate for a beginner's drone.

The supplied battery is a 900maH lipo pack. I managed to stuff in a 1200mah lipo pack in the battery compartment. The 1200mah lipo pack was slightly shorter but 2-3mm broader as compared to the supplied pack.

But with few twists and minimal pushing, the battery slide in pretty well. And it works perfectly well. I havent timed my flights yet but i will soon. With the extra 300mah im expecting another 2-3 minutes of flight time maybe.

The canopy of the drone is quite spacious inside. I believe we should be able to fit it a larger capacity battery into the drone with few minor mods. But the weight of a larger capacity battery may hinder its flight time. Not too sure about this but i might try it some time soon.

As for the flying of the drone:

Its quite straightforward to fly it. A quick glaze thru the supplied manual and you are ready to operate this beauty. Maneuvering it isint that difficult and the transmitter is quite responsive.

Comes with 2 speeds. At high speed the drone goes fast enough but still responds to the transmitter well. This is good for beginner who wants to learn the basics of flying a drone.

It comes with built it Altitude hold which is not so bad, but the drone tends to hover up and down quite a bit so the safe height would prolly be 2meters. Otherwise is very much stable

Its extremely easy to perform flips with this. Just hold on to the top right button and slide the right hand joystick to which ever direction of interest and watch it flip.

###But ensure the drone is atleast 3m off the ground before performing a flip as the drone will drop almost 1meter after the flip###

The blue led lights are nothing but beauty without functionality. The do look cool. With the led the drone looks like some alien scifi bug.

Rc Car:

This is one amazing rc car. Super fast and literally a bulldozer. Controlling it is easy. I took about 7-8 minutes to change the props to the wheels. On high speed more the car looks like its on steroids. I've so far tested it indoors only. Will be doing outdoors soon.

My final verdict:

For the price you pay, this is one amazing decent quality 2 in 1 drone/rc car. Yet again these Chinese manufacturers have proven that cheap stuff can be off good quality as well.

With altitude hold/gyro axis/ drone to rc car in less than 10 minutes/ 2 speed mode and not to forget wifi hd camera capabilities -------> this drone is worth the money spent.

I will be getting the Hubsan h501s x4 soon though. Have my eye on it for quite sometime now..

;-)

My question: The supplied lipo is a 3.7v pack. Is it possible to upgrade to a 7.4 v lipo pack?
