The hobby is not all about flying alone. You get to meet new people, learn new things, and of course at the same time operate your RC aircraft within a safe radius. For me that is fun (not go spying on neighbours).

While there are people who like to go solo, I'd say fly with groups until you really get the hang of it. It will also prevent you from doing silly things and endangering others (and the hobby).
Learn to limit yourselves. These hobby items are not toy-grade - there are some risks to it. And old enthusiasts always remind newbies to fly safe and responsible.
