and that's also why the term return to china is invented. it seems most flyaways started when they engaged gps mode and return to home. Somewhere along that the compass or gps got mixed up and it's gone
then what about those experienced quad pilots who had dji flyaways? i'm not saying pilot error is not a factor. Just saying it happens more frequently than quads of other brands
it's called fpv and you can build your own fpv setup in any quad as long as you have money

My pre flight checklist
1. Battery on tx
2. Battery on drone
3. Check each of the motors if there is any small sand that stucks in there
4. Make sure props are fit correctly (for noobs la)
5. Make sure props are secured tightly
6. Able to get decent gps status (8 blinks or more)
7. Set home for gps (but i am much more comfortable to fly in atti mode)
7. Safe area to fly (no shady strangers / stray dogs)
8. No gust wind (use tree other high things as reference)

unless u play from state to state then compass calibration is a must. Time to do dji compass dance

just go buy micro quadcopter rm 100 also can have a lot of fun already
if u know your stuff then custom build quad is the best. otherwise just buy one of those ready to fly.

You might be joking but multicopters (or famously but wrongly referred to as 'drones') are in the spotlight here. We are trying to ensure that this hobby looks good and stays good.
