why you need to install data monitoring app?
MIUI already have build in data monitoring app....

Xiaomi can bring more unit into Malaysia, but the FedEx or UPS cannot handle it.
you see still got many haven't receive their device from the 1st batch sales (although the expectation delivery date is 28 May)

Xiaomi try to cheer and please us, they just want to be safe before screwing it up by courier services

Many of you is angry because cannot get it online due to limit stock, this is part of they marketing strategy, like this can heat up the topic (finish sales in 17min or etc) then everyone will talk about it and will be more notice on 2nd batch launch and etc... (Free advertising)

mi3 have their own micloud which offer the same function.
if just apps (from play store), if you have enable it on your google account, once you move to mi3, just retrieve it from google account (same goes to your contact)

Just my 2 cent, backup tools just create more scenario/issue to your data and will corrupted it if you run on too many backup... and i don't trust them anymore

flash to developer rom, which is now android kitkat, then you will have mi market , you just need install google installer separately (get it from mi market).

make sure nothing is block on the sensor (top left corner just after the MI logo).

you can get the .apk from the web, or flash it to developer rom (which i am using and it is really awesome )


My 3 day usage experience and conclusion
Cons:
1. Vibrate a bit soft (compare to Samsung)
2. Speaker sound a bit soft or flat tone(like radio sound).
3. little bit difficult to use it under strong sunlight (with 100% brightness/contrast)
4. camera - night version/time not too good.

Pros:
- Everything (except the 4 point mention above)

I don't give a shit about (no micro-sd slot, cannot change battery, no LTE)

With just RM889, don't too picky on it... even those RM2399 , RM2499 flagship model have some Cons too but why you still buy them?

you can disable the calendar + weather from you phone, so your OS won't load it.
Settings > Apps > All > Weather or Calendar > Disable button at bottom



BTW, I am not sure about Stable version if have the function, I am using the DEV ROM (from MIUI download section)

Mine are fine and smooth, perhaps check your "Auto-start management" and see how many apps is allow to start automatically. (under Security > Permission > )
once you optimize it, reboot your phone and you shall try and see again.
I have that issue before and found too many apps is allow to start automatically, so after kill them all (left 2 open), everything seems fine now.

yea, it only allow you to disable it. as I said previously, once you disable, your OS cannot load any data from there... that why it show (misbehave warning)

I just got my Weather fix properly after 1 night of trial & error... hehe.

what game are you playing and got lag? mine to share the game name?
my battery on balance mode and so far no lag at all game i played

yup, it is soft. one of the cons for Mi3

why still backup stuff using SD card? there is a reason why those apps exist (MiCloud, GoogleDrive, Dropbox)

probably you should wait for 64GB version.

try restart the phone first and if still same, replace with another sim card and try??
i never had this before so can't give you any suggestion.


by the way, if you had MiCloud open and synch your contact, make sure your google account doesn't do the same, or else you will have duplicate name found in your Contact.

make sure the sensor at top left corner (beside the MI logo) is not cover by anything.

After you flash to Dev ROM, make sure you get "Google installer" from Mi Market.
Install all the relevant apps via "Google installer"

Once the relevant apps are installed, make sure you reboot your phone!

Then everything should be okay now.

and you can start enjoy few feature which Stable ROM doesn't have it.


p/s: some application will crash but just reopen will do.

edit: go to your Updater > press "Menu" button > choose "Get latest version of MIUI" > at the bottom have "Update"
if beside the "Update" have some 450~500MB, mean you required to download and install the package once more.
I just remember this, because I been into your situation for few hour and go through these step, everything is settle.

my Mi3w wifi get more signal compare to my old phone
touch screen > no issue.

guess the one complaining is the unlucky one.. but SC is there for the reason.

1. Consider okay and also depend how you use your phone + how many apps you allow it to run at background.
2. the phone is not too heat up until now and no lag at all, this is snapdragon 800, way better than tegra 4
3. this is software problem, the auto focus really ...... (but you can install google camera which is awesome![required android v4.4+])
4. I using cheap earphone, and select the optimise headset setting, the sound is superb, this is the reason why DIAC so famous
5. touchscreen is good, if you wan more sensitive , enable glove mode

Aiyo, need people experiment for you first then you only try meh...

you're welcome, now you will find more frequent apps crash compare with stable rom. (but the processor is fast, reopen just take 1sec only )
- I found 1 bug with Dev ROM is the Weather apps is now change from Accuweather to WeatherChina,
So your phone weather detail is not that accurate compare with Stable ROM.
> Even you install other weather app, your lockscreen still capturing the data/source from WeatherChina.
= no solution is found up until now and I give up already

go to your settings > language & input > keyboard & input methods >
choose and default google pinyin keyboard

when you texting, the keyboard will pop up > just need to click on top "中“ or "En"
if you want to change the keybard input style, long press "中“ or "En", there is other seletion.

errr.. i connect few time, just work fine like normal.
if you ignore it, you can still using it like? (i mean just lick continue anyway) ?

i being using latest dev rom since i receive my mi3.... so i don't know if stable rom have the problem.

I don't use swiftkey, stable rom default have swiftkey kb install, but i found it not too user friendly (my own opinion la)
after i root to dev rom, i just stick with google kb until now...
maybe i will try baidu kb as well..

but before you doing so, make sure you are clear what you are doing,
