I just brought this lens. after i shot i realise this when doing PP.

After increase the Shadows to +100, i see this.



the line at the dark sky.

to me it look like some extra light source enter the lens.

is this normal?

what's the exposure for this shot? and are you shooting directly or through a window? also post a "before" picture for reference. looks like reflection imo, but not so sure.

Can't see the picture well.

But most most likely a lens flare. Had similar problems when I was shooting off a balcony, no window in front of the camera. Don't know how to prevent it. Some say it might be caused by the lights behind you where you should turn it all off.

I never got it on the tokina though, maybe because I didn't put a filter and used a lens hood. I had these problems with my 50mm.

I hope is just because of the back light.

But it didn't not happen to all my picture. when I change the angle abit. then it won't happen.

Should I put on a lens hood all the time even for night scene for this? or remove the filter?

Get a lens hood and a better filter/remove filter.
Happens almost all the time for long exposure or shooting behind a glass.
Also for wide angle, it is a lot more prominent

ive the same exact problem too.. but on sigma10-20
i think lens hood can solve the prob

i think its is lens flare, do you use any filter, try to remove it, PP can be easily to remove using content aware tool.

That is called Ghosting. It is caused by those streetlights reflecting and bouncing around all your lens elements. Nothing much you can do unless you can block off the streetlights, or use a more expensive filter with more light transmission, or don't shoot into a light source at all; but even then, you may still get ghosting.
