Sifu, would like to ask you all how to solve the missing IMEI issue after flashing a custom ROM. I tried using Liquidsmooth and then later applying the fixes

....and the fella bootlooped, tried going to C-rom but had a status 7 error cry.gif

ya.. IMEI/EFS partition is very very important. I almost learnt that hard way as the ROM that I flashed few years ago messed up my IMEI(dont know why it write to the efs partition) and I spent a whole night thru dawn to save my phone. luckily i did a backup of efs at the very beginning.
*
*Update: My backup efs file didnt work and the nandriod backup also failed as the IMEI became corrupted even after restoring it! blink.gif I'll repeat the whole process of rooting before flashing later cry.gif

When you did your IMEI backup? After corrupt or before, if after corrupt for sure it's wouldn't works.

Just to clarify, your previous ROM and 4.1.1 or later version, reason being efs for 4.1.1 and later version stored in different folder.

If you wish to restore backup IMEI my advise you go back to the ROM version you was when you backing up the IMEI then slowly flash to new ROM...
*
Before corrupt, I went to 4.4.4 ROM from 4.3. This happened tried to flash it back to stock.

What you trying to say is you flash from <Some ROM> to 4.4.4 and things is still good but when you flash back to stock you face efs corrupt problem, right? hmm.gif

I didn't anything wrong. You are in the stock recovery mode.
*
I flashed to stock rom ( IMEI still usable), back-up the EFS file,, then went to custom 4.4.4 rom. After that I changed the EFS file, the custom rom no IMEI. Then I restored a NAndriod of the stock rom before and that caused the IMEI to dissapear from stock blink.gif

Not sure i read you correctly.. now in order to get your phone to work you may try to flash back to the stock ROM that you said IMEI still usable, check everything is running accordingly, if not restore the efs backup. if still cannot then must get some sifu to really give your phone a physical looks or send to shop for SOS! sweat.gif
*
Thanks! Send to the shop and spend $200 to replace the chip cry.gif My first time running into this issue since I had no problems on my S3 Mini beforehand sweat.gif

Is it advisable to do factory reset on my phone since is slowing down?
*
I think it may also have to do with the number of apps you use. I use limited apps as backing them up takes some time doh.gif But then again, stock samsung rom are quite heavy in using memory blink.gif

Nope, I've tried with office WiFi, home WiFi, and outside coffee shop WiFi, guess its not the WiFi transmission issue, its with my phone.
*
First time meeting with this issue though. I think the only choice is sent to SOS since it is likely a hardware issue instead sad.gif

Anybody have experienced CM11 in their device?
What's the pro and cons of having it?
Thanks
*
Pros: Customisable, with usual features like DSP manager and themes
Cons: Battery-life is only so-so, twaekable with kernels
* from exp using it on S3 Mini and Gnex tongue.gif *
