Reset factory will  format /system & /cache ?

I suggest you + the internal storage format but you need to patient while backing up your internal important files manually.

when using PhilzTouch, when you wipe to install a new ROM, there is wipe/preload

in TWRP, factory reset is enough..

is there any difference? does TWRP not wipe preload?
*
i think it will wipe the whole thing - that's why i take out my external sd card when factory reset via TWRP.
