I've gone to couple of other warehouse sale, but not gunpla. They employ several technique such as an 'empty box' at rm100, but you can put as many books as you want inside for free (all for rm100).
*
that only works for big bad wolf. its no where near possible that it is able to be implemented in this gunpla warehse sale

hobby knife: bookstore or stationary shop. Find brand OLFA.
Side cutter: Hardware store. Can get cheap but require proper maintenance.

I believe the above will be recommended by the residents here.
*
will look around for the brand if i could find until, lol. hardware those are really thick and not as sharp as side cutter. i bought one and the runner totally got stressed out sweat.gif

if you're on a tight budget, you can get a regular cutter knife from stationery stores, doesn't have to be expensive but try to look for the one that have good quality.

I'm using a metal body Unicorn brand knife with SDI brand blades (typical stationery brands) laugh.gif

as for hobby knifes, you can easily find it in Daiso for (of course) RM5 each. they even have the replacement blades as well, although sold separately

for side cutters, you can try look in Time Machine (2nd floor Times Square, next to IT Toys). last time I checked they do have basic cutters for about RM20-ish each.
I wouldn't recommend hardware store side cutters since the cutting edge is pretty thick. good for cutting wires & metals stuff but a big NO when it comes to separating plastic plamo parts from its runners. it will badly stress out the part when being cut and will leave a visible whitish mark on the part itself, most noticeable on dark coloured ones.

is the blades sharp enuf ? i mean as sharp as hobby knifes. didnt see until any hobby knifes in Daiso, mayb i went to the wrong ones sweat.gif

you mean the stationery cutter knife? does the job when it comes to nub mark trimming & minor panel line scribing. I've built all my gunplas using that knife sweat.gif

one thing about Daiso is not every item is available in every of its branches. if you found certain item in A branch, doesn't mean you can find it in B branch. they even rotate the items being sold once every few weeks laugh.gif

Just found dolphin brand hobby knife at my local stationary shop. Thinking of looking for Olfa or x-acto before deciding on which one to buy. Is the dolphin brand knife as good as olfa/x-acto? As i knw the dolphin knife wins in term of price biggrin.gif

Yea. I think i saw them selling the knife at 1 branch but the size too biggy.

Sifus, want to ask something.

Do you buy your gundams in bulk and then build one by one or just buy one whenever you are gonna build one? Im planning to get an airbrush, but need to collect quite a lot for that, need to save at least 3-4 months of my allowance. but with the same amount of money, i can get a few gundams per month. Kinda unsure if i should continue collecting and get an airbrush first or stock on gundams and build them one by one, and then fully completing them once i have the airbrush.

just asking for opinion.

Thanks.
*
once the poison sets in, your backlog is gonna increase. i suggest u buy 1 or 2 gunpla every month given that you have the time to finish it so that your backlog will not increase laugh.gif
