1/550 HG Mechanics is the more affordable version for mobile armours, but the 1/400 line is a better choice.

HGM doesn't have much detail nor articulation compared to the 1/400.

And if the 0083 combo pack goes for only 8400 yen and an Alpha Azeiru for 5000 yen, surely a sole 1/400 Neo Zeong is feasible for that price range.

*going away to pray for a HG 1/144 Nightingale.

never a huge fan of clear part kits... they all look weird and it's a pain with nub marks.

the best clear part kit is still the banshee, since it's not really that transparent due to the dark armour pieces.

by the way, found something that might be helpful for those looking for replacement kits which we know is not easy to obtain
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/finetoolkits/m....=1&_ipg=&_from=

pricey, but at least it's an option

You can minimize the problem by adding the blu tack at the wrist, did that to my 3.0, Nu and Jesta and so far they can hold better.

However, for Jesta I used the dry super glue method on top of the tack, now the palm is harder to be disconnected from the wrist joint.
*
Superglue method works well but try not to apply too many times on the same joint, especially polycaps.
It worked wonders for my HGUC Sinanju's shoulder joint, but when I reapplied it a few more times I noticed that the glue stiffened up and melted the inside of the polycap, making the joint fit looser than before.

Not sure whether it would have the same effect on ABS joints or even plastic on plastic, but polycaps don't tolerate too much glue.

hey guys, i saw a custom model that is so cool and i feel like wanna make 1 for my own. yet due to my custom experience is 0, letz forget about the copyright talks. I just want to find out what kit is needed and how to build this kit.

I believe most of you have seen this masterpiece call orb-x02 falken mod by tr13..
if you have not, please visit the site and share you experty in determining what kit is needed to build
http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2014/06/1100...ml#comment-form

well, i am a noob here with the experience of less than 10 MG and HG. But I can still see it need 2 freedom... well the sword does not seem to be from astray...
*
Wait for the modeller's detailed write up and WIP I suppose.

I know purist would prefer this more true-to-original bulky Hi-Nu.

but I still regret that this Hi-Nu ver.Ka doesn't based on the same design language as Nu ver.Ka which I one of my all time favourite.. just personal taste... blush.gif
*
There's the gundoom hi nu but it looks nothing like the two Bandai versions.

This "new" ver Ka HiNu is still pretty similar to the previously released HiNu, the one with the shark fin tail binder instead of the Izubuchi talon.
Bandai has yet to be able to reproduce the purple gradient for the fin funnels, although this time the funnels point downwards instead of trying to be angel wings.

Just finished HGUC Banshee Norn Destroy. Damnnnn what an awesome kit.

Haven't done this for a long time now... whistling.gif

Quick review for the HGUC V2.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Pros:
1. Proportions are quite well done although the height is somewhat off-scale (it should be shorter). Portrays the Katoki look very well - tiny head, small torso, big fat chunky legs. Looks amazing when completed, even better in the air on a display stand... Definitely one of the better looking HGUCs around.

2. Wide range of shoulder articulation - it swivels back and front, it abducts all the way up. The hip joint with thigh rotations offers the ability to do wide splits. Too bad the polycaps can be pretty loose (see Cons #1).

3. Awesome boxart. Means little to the overall kit, but badass boxart is badass.

Cons:
1. Loose joints. The two ball joints used for the torso and waist are great for dynamic poses, but they pop out too easily. Same goes with the wrist joints and shoulder joints. The red caps for the forearm beam shield emitter have the same problem, I had to use blue tack to keep the beam shield on.

2. No wings of light. Come on, Bandai !! The saving grace is that the wings of light from the ancient 1/144 V2 can easily fit into the HGUC, provided you can find one for sale of course. And to put salt on the wound, the old 1/144 comes with a transparent stand too.

3. The core fighter is somewhat useless. It doesn't transform, no moving parts, the cockpit doesn't come with clear parts nor even a simple glossy decal. It's a plastic brick which I'd happily sacrifice for some wings of light or for a lower price (say 1000 yen instead of 1300).

4. No way to store beam sabres sad.gif and the rifle looks kinda meh even with the grenade launcher. The weapon storage hardpoints (skirt and knee armour) are for decoration but non-functional.

5. Crappy generic manipulators with no trigger finger. Works OK with the rifle, but useless in grasping the beam sabre hilts.

Conclusion:
A very generic kit to be honest, I can't help but feel that it's there merely to complete the HG 1/144 All Gundam project rather than to promote the Victory series.

Nevertheless this is one kit which will give you few hours of assembly fun. It's easy enough to fix despite the really tiny pieces, but none of them are fragile or complicated.

Should you buy it? A no-brainer yes for fans of the Victory series, but I can't say it's special enough to be a must-have.
What next? Obviously Assault and Buster variants but without a special promotion e.g. some anniversary/remaster of the anime etc, it probably won't happen in the near future.

wet transfer nightmare... sweat.gif

This MG HiNu should have been THE MG HiNu, not the watered down, skinny imposter released in 2007...
Hopefully it comes in HGUC form... MG too big and too expensive.

The RE Nightingale seems like a huge brick... minimal articulation... doesn't seem like there's even an elbow joint doh.gif

Ummm...duh? What were you expecting? No amount of engineering in the world would make Nightingale's design highly articulated.

wasn't expecting anything special... but simple 90 degree elbow bends shouldn't be too hard.

Jesus. Essay. Chill.

The old nongrade 1/60 gundams have some form of functioning elbow joints, not that hard for the Nightingale to have them too.

I wasn't asking for the nightingale to be spiderman nor to be an MG, and the "brick" was a statement not a complaint. I wonder why both of you seemed annoyed by my statement.

Beware of MKII ver2.0s... floppy joints.

Just pulled the trigger and ordered Hi Nu ver Ka.... $$$$ gone.
I wonder why Bandai's not persisting with ABS joints for heavy, huge kits. Polycaps are simply not strong enough to support the weight, my Tallgeese's shoulders are already sagging.

tallgeese shoulder design is the flaw..and using polycap with that kind of design makes it worst

Indeed.
I wonder why Bandai doesn't stick with the Gundam 2.0's shoulder design. That shoulder is brilliant and looks natural when shooting upwards.

So this MG actually comes with a functioning mobile phone? How crazy is this? shocking.gif

Just discovered this awesome Korean gunpla channel. Even though I don't understand a single word he's saying, looking at the video alone is enough to show you the interesting parts of the different gunplas. The Hi Nu review is absolutely brilliant, probably the best MG to date. The Nightingale's review confirmed my previous thoughts that it's a pretty hopeless red brick, but boy is it a gorgeous looking brick.

Gently rub the panel lines with your thumb after panel lining. It'll smudge away the excess ink.

that looks quite big.. any differences between version KA and V2?
Nu n hi Nu priced above 230 bucks.. nearly reaching sinanju.. is it as tall as the sinanju?
*
V2? Not sure which one you're referring to.

The Sinanju, at 22.6m, would be slightly taller than the Hi Nu which is 20m.
The Hi Nu however would look bulkier due to te massive fin funnels.

That's actually not Hi Nu v2, it's merely a redesigned (not sure whether Beecraft redesigned it or someone else did) Hi Nu released 7 years ago.

The Hi Nu ver Ka is bulkier than the old one but about the same height.
