Anything that I must do before I can apply topcoat?
*
At least at room temperature. Guaranteed way, spray under direct sunlight.

Metallic kit no need coating right?
*
Usually no. I've come across metallic clear coat spray paint, but it was damn expensive and was meant for automotive restoration. If you had a car painting workshop, that would be great laugh.gif

Hey guys, i am new to building gundam model kits.

I've recently bought a bunch of stuff from this website, gundam.my.
They provide excellent services but i checked hobbylink japan and found out that their(gundam.my) price is overpriced.

May i know where do you guys get your model kits?

Is buying online cheaper? or do i get it from a store instead?

I live in penang island, anyone can enlighten me where to get gundam model kits? =D
*
You have not included the shipping charges to Malaysia. Although you would normally still get cheaper price (5-10%) than buying from local retailers, but in the end it roughly amounts up to the same price. Note that this does not apply for P-Bandai exclusives, buying from overseas retailers (Amiami, GGI, HLJ etc) is definitely cheaper.

QUOTE(HxiiiK @ Oct 26 2014, 10:54 PM)
agreed something looks wrong with it.. if it was more towards metal composite look i think it would be fantastic.. MG is a bit, plain, for lack of a better word sweat.gif
still waiting for 21st to see true prototypes
*
Same case as ARF, the PG is bulkier than the sleek-looking MG. But in the end we all love it laugh.gif

QUOTE(Nawar @ Oct 26 2014, 11:21 PM)
hows the weight of RG kits.. Are they heavier than HG?
Can it be hang on ceiling or wall mounted?
*
Well logic dictates that due to the additional frame, not only the mecha but also to its weapons and accessories, they should weight heavier than its HG counterpart, but still not noticeable when you hold it.

About the weight of hg and rg, i don't have the same model to compare. But i don't think there's i significant difference between them.
*
There is if you hold them in one hand each, especially Strike Freedom. If you hold them by the legs, RG SF will be tilting back due to its internally-framed wings compared to the hollow HG SF laugh.gif

RG SF is not really pose able...i mean, i can be done but with a lot of frustration due to parts keep snapping out...and breaks. Both my RG SF waist railgun attachment part broke, and now glued to to body.  doh.gif
*
Actually it is very pose-able, I did some crazy poses before with RG SF. You just need to have patience and

imo, RG SF is good RG but since it is a CE/Seed RG, it must have a huge backpack so comparing it to units like Granddad, zaku or Exia, it will really feel/look inferior since they are units without backpack and are more balanced (can do dynamic land pose)
*
All the MS you mentioned were prominently shown having ground battle, but SF had never had ground battle, that's why action base is a must laugh.gif

Nail polish does works for action figures join tightening.. some use cement as well.. but action figures/toys plastics may be differ.. some joint can bend as well..

i noticed super glue sometimes will create a sort of whitish/cloudish.. any other cleaner solution than that for joint tightening for gunpla..
*
Yes it's called Blu Tac. Non permanent like super glue so no damage to the joints.

If the decal was still slippery, that means you didn't drain/absorb the remaining water completely.

any suggestions on how to panel line on white parts and not looking too black heavy?

are those panel wash technique easy to remove access on small tight areas like the head/face?

What type of paint is good n easy to use enamel, acrylic, oil color, ink etc?
*
Use gundam marker 02, or, get an Artline pen (0.01 size), or mechanical pencil (plus eraser).

Acrylic is the most plastic-friendly, but it is not highly scratch-resistant like enamel.

I've been buying gunplas for years but only now want to do panel lining, put decals and apply top coat.  sweat.gif
*
Very worth it to do so. More satisfaction when you custom paint your gunpla smile.gif

Nope, I meant 0.01. Only two brands I've used before, Artline and Sakura Pigma.

Real stationery or art shops, like near where I work in Publika, there are a few art shops. Likewise, you can also buy them on eBay.

that looks quite big.. any differences between version KA and V2?
Nu n hi Nu priced above 230 bucks.. nearly reaching sinanju.. is it as tall as the sinanju?
*
Sinanju and Nu about the same. HiNu is dwarfed by Nu. HiNu is a bit taller than other MG but still noticeably shorter than Nu.

Note that I'm talking about Ver. Ka (all of them).

You should have panel-lined it first before assembling, it'll be PITA afterwards.
