No arguments there if I walk into litt takk store but this is supposed to be a WAREHOUSE SALE. Whats the point calling it a warehouse sales if the prices are same as outside??
*
There are many items being on sale, they can't literally slash price down for everything. I'm sure other things being sold during warehouse sales are not discounted, yet people assume they all are.

IMO, warehouse sale should be a lot cheaper since its supposed to clear out old stock to make room for new ones. They could make it a must to buy in 'package' to get special price, or buy 1 get the next 1 at 50% discount, etc.
*
Yes, their 'official' promotion this time is the double bullet, but besides that there are many more kits being on discount. Realistically, they can't put discount on every item they sell, it's marketing 101 where you put normally priced items in the mix.

I've heard people at the warehouse were complaining on why MG Turn X is being 40 more expensive, why Sazabi is way more expensive than retail. They should have known it is unlikely that these items prices to be slashed.

I've gone to couple of other warehouse sale, but not gunpla. They employ several technique such as an 'empty box' at rm100, but you can put as many books as you want inside for free (all for rm100).

Don't think Lit Tak would ever do that laugh.gif They would need to provide a trolley for each visitor biggrin.gif

Hah, the best answer laugh.gif

Is your first Gunpla has to be Gundam type or you are OK with non-Gundam? I would like to suggest HGUC Banshee Norn [Destroy] for Gundam type and HGUC Jesta Cannon for non-Gundam type.

If you are a purist and have high confidence of your skills, then I think you should start with MG RX78-2 3.0, but then with those really high parts count, it may discourage you. The MG RX78-2 2.0 has more simplistic build, but then again why would you settle for a previous generation, which is 5 years older? biggrin.gif

Guys, I have a question, is it really worth it to get a better nipper?

I do not paint my Gunpla, that's why sanding out the sprue mark is very important to me.

I have read some articles and saw some videos saying that a better side cutter will cut better and hence easier to sand. But, I have no idea if they are honest about it.

I saw a Tamiya Side Cutter for RM100.00 in Time Machine, Time Square. The merchant said there are huge differences between normal nipper and good nipper, that's why it is a good investment. (= =but he is a merchant, of course he said that.)

I know this forum is full of honest people. Please guide me.

Expensive nipper? Absolutely NO.
High quality modeling knife (inadvertently more expensive)? Absolutely yes. Actually it's the blades that are expensive.

What brand and where can I find it?

For nipper I use cheap Mr. DIY plastic cutter, only RM 5-6. For knife I use Daiso brand, but for the blades I buy from an art shop near my office smile.gif

it all depends on his style of build. Some people like to cut a little away and then cleanup using a knife. This is taught and advocated by most modellers. Some just cut as close as possible and if you have a better, thinner and sharper nipper, you can use it as a clean up tool instead of a art knife. I've tried quite a few nippers in different price range, the better the quality, the less cleanup you have to do, but that also mean higher price.
*
To me it's simple, knife has more precision compared to nipper.

My first gundam  biggrin.gif  This was quite fun to build, though I hate putting on the stickers, I'm just bad at accuracy (as you can see from the helmet, some parts were not covered  sweat.gif )
But I think I can understand the enthusiasm of this hobby now. The process of building your gundam from scratch and seeing all the parts come together as one  thumbup.gif
HG next!

There will be a time when 'building your gundam from scratch and seeing all the parts come together as one' will not be enough anymore. As for me now assembling them is only 50% of the journey biggrin.gif Perhaps you can start slowly by getting a few markers and put some details on your SD Build Strike biggrin.gif

RG Wing Zero? I'm 50-50 with this. But if they did come out with Wing Zero, please plan an RG Epyon in the future nod.gif

I just think that Epyon in RG scheme would have a beautiful part separation. It is cool enough in MG, but if it came out in RG, would be cooler.

So it's pretty much a December release, for the Wing Zero.

Yeah. Though not for greater good but more for others' selfish needs.  cry.gif bye.gif

I'm already seeing a little spark sad.gif The thing about Gunpla is about your satisfaction, indirectly translates into chasing 'perfection', which inadvertently means you need lots of money.

The kits themselves are not a problem, it's the other things to accommodate the kits like paints, thinners, those damn P-Bandai exclusives, tools, equipments and lots more sad.gif

That's why I'm slowly leaning towards RG, small size that takes less space in the shelves, articulations, the details (damn!) and the color accuracy right out of the box, the only downside is the variety sad.gif

im going to visit ICW soon .

BTW, since GST is kicking in next year, shouldn't we be building our backlog now ? next year confirmed gunpla will be more expensive
*
Theoretically the other way around. Current sales tax for Gunpla is 10%, with GST it will only be 6%.
