Capcom Responds to Dead Rising SDTV Outcry QUOTE If you don't have an HDTV (like me), you've been struggling with Dead Rising -- and we're not talking about the ridiculous save system, either. The text on the screen was obviously formatted for users already having entered the HD Era, and not ones waiting for a more reasonable price, because the font size is essentially unreadable at its current miniscule size, even with component cables.
Fans cried out in pain over the revelation, but Capcom said nothing until an official Capcom message board administrator sympathized with the complaints and said they'd been forwarded to "every source within Capcom possible" but warned against petitions and campaign to spam Capcom's support email, as such efforts only hinder the company's ability to respond.
Message board administrators can't do jack about providing a patch, though, so we contacted Capcom for the scoop on what was happening. Unfortunately, plans are still up in the air. "We are aware of the issue regarding the text size and appreciate the feedback we have heard from fans. We are looking into this, but have not announced a patch at this time," a Capcom representative told 1UP last night.
In other words, upset gamers (and even this writer) will simply have to suck it up for a few weeks. If you haven't even picked the game up yet, make sure to check out 1UP's glowing review from the Milkman himself. Source

QUOTE(xxboxx @ Aug 28 2006, 09:03 PM) what part will it be censored? if it's just some small part i think i don't mind. IINM, it'll be less violent than the US version. Just got my Dead Rising from Djinn. Too bad it's sent to my hometown address (I'm living at my campus' hostel so I asked Djinn to post it to my hometown) or else I'll whack some Zombies tonite. I'll get my hands on it this Wednesday. Can't wait!

About Dead Rising's achievement like those which require you to defeat 53,594 zombies, defeat 10 psychopaths, defeat 10 Special Forces soldiers etc, do you have to do it in 1 single game, or does the kill count carry over to the next game?

Guys, I played Dead Rising, and I'm stuck in the battle with Isabella on the bike. It's hard to aim at her with melee or ranged weapon because she keeps moving. Any tips?

QUOTE(MobiusVyper @ Sep 5 2006, 08:48 PM) No way. That can't be fair. If it is the case there should be an update for the US Version for online Co-Op and Multiplayer Kameo implemented Online Co-Op by letting us to download a "Co-Op Pack". I think it shouldn't be too hard for Dead Rising to do the same thing. QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 5 2006, 08:57 PM) yeah but im guessin its gonna cost MP :S Like in Kameo's case, the download was free as long as you're an Xbox Live Gold member (since the download is useless if you're a Silver member anyway).

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 5 2006, 09:21 PM) yeah but how about 2 player co-op? coudnt sum1 play co-op at hme? as a silva memba? In Kameo's case, the offline co-op is availabe on the game from the start (actually you have to unlock them) The Kameo's "Co-Op Pack" download allows us to play co-op with someone else online. Since Dead Rising don't have built-in offline multiplayer, they have 3 choices: 1) Sell the co-op pack through XB Marketplace 2) Offer free downloads to Gold Members if the co-op is online co-op only. 3) Offer free downloads to everybody if the co-op playable offline & online.

QUOTE(MobiusVyper @ Sep 5 2006, 09:29 PM) Co-op is always about more than 1 player isn't it? If you're talking about offline co-op then yeah you can play split-screen Eh? You can play Dead Rising in split-screen? Is there any offline co-op feature in US version that I don't know about?

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 5 2006, 09:37 PM) Hahahahah no im saying that why not give silver members a chance to play offline. just now u stated more of a chance of giving for only gold members. why not give for silva members for offline co-op. We still don't know whether the co-op is online only or can be played in offline mode. If the co-op is playable offline, they should make it available to everybody. If it's online-only, then there's no point giving them to Silver Member since they can't use it.

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 5 2006, 09:43 PM) Yeah i knw. lets sendan inspiring email to capcom I think they'll reply to you: QUOTE Dear Mr. Daidzz, we're sorry that the co-op mode isn't included in the version that you bought. We have no plan to include co-op mode in other region since our marketing stratergy for each region is different. Since you got to play Dead Rising earlier than those poor European, we think it's only fair to give them co-op mode to compensate their longer waiting period. After all, they do pay higher price for the game compared to Americans.
Don't worry, we have a suggestion to solve your problem. You can purchase European Xbox 360 console & European version of Dead Rising since the co-op mode is built in into the game.
Thank you, and have a nice day. I hope if the co-op mode is true they will really make it available for download thru Marketplace. This post has been edited by mzaidi: Sep 5 2006, 09:55 PM

QUOTE(XenoFr3ak @ Sep 6 2006, 12:49 AM) im still noob at DR ... still dunno how it works. I got 1 question ... how come when I save the game ... and after i wanna play back again ... i load back my game, it always start at the intro ind beginning of the game ... izzit a bug ?? ... how do i load back where i was ?? HELP!! If you save at the green couch at the security room or the restroom, you should be able to continue your game at that point. When you want to load your game, at the menu, there should be a "Continue" selection available, select that. If you die without saving at either the security room / restroom, the save prompt that appear when you die is only for saving your level & status so you can bring it over when you start a new game. I finally defeated Isabella, and when I see the cut scene after defeating her, I notice that her boobs jiggle. It's something that I don't expect from this game.

I just finished Case 6 (yeah, I know I'm slow, but I'm swamped with assignments). One think I don't like about Dead Rising is random stats / skills that you gain when you level up. If you get useful stats / skills when you level up, that's great, but if you get the one you don't like when level up, there's nothing much you can do about it.

QUOTE(MightySmiter @ Sep 8 2006, 10:10 AM) i dunno if its random or not but i can confirm for u that by the time u reach 50...all ur skills will be maxed out.so it dont really make a difference.unless of course u wanted to set ur own stats Me & my bro both played the game, and we noticed the stats & skills we have is different even though we're at the same level. So yeah, the level-up system is random. When I first saw the level-up screen in GameTrailers.com video preview, I thought we can pick which stats / skills we want when we level up (~ala Oblivion).

Anybody downloaded the "Costume Key" from the marketplace? So far there are 9 keys for download. I think there will be 3 more keys to download in the future since there are 12 lockers in the security room, and there are only 9 that are unlockable now.

QUOTE(hikaru_x @ Sep 11 2006, 08:51 AM) my game loads terribly slow when it says "Checking downloaded content. Please don't turn off your console...". anyone else having the same problem? i feel like deleting the downloads. Um, it happens to me, but only on the first time after I downloaded the content. The load time returns to normal after that. This post has been edited by mzaidi: Sep 11 2006, 09:00 AM

^ Scoop missions are optional and you don't need to complete them to know the true story / get the best ending.

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 14 2006, 08:15 PM) then why is it lyk damn wierd ... probably wuz coincidentally but then when i talked to the chick sitting next to the guy who's like half-dead, she said bla bla bla thanks then it said "NEXT MISSION WILL B ACQUIRED AT 11AM" then i took one step and it all went "EXPIRED-EXPIRED-EXPIRED" i was like wtttffffff!!! That's Case File. Scoop & Case File are different thing. You get scoops from Otis the Janitor, while the Case Files are compulsary to do if you want to know the true story and get the best ending.
