Just played around a little with it. Connect to Wi-F-. Configured 2 email accounts without a problem. The camera seems to be great! Copied 2 720p movies inside to test and very nice output. The screen is really something. Still getting used to Android. The speaker seems to have breaks in sound. Maybe i should let them play some medium music to burn them in like i do in most of my cheapo speakers. Should i upgrade to V36?

V27 battery perfomance is the best so far.
V27 to V36 updates do not fix any major problem like battery perfomance.
It only fix about security issues and just a tiny bit improvement on RAM.

b4 V36 Antutu benchmark always gave me around 15K score.... now with V36, managed to hit 20K score... of course just for reference

I charge my 1s with the 1amp adapter comes with the phone, I can feel it is warm but not as your described 'quite warm'.
I charge my Mi3 with Nexus 7 2amp charger, which is much warmer but the battery charged up much faster.

What cover did you use? Maybe it has something to do with the cover does not allow heat to release.

while playing do you experience any auto shutdown?

If I have the chance to charge till full, it will be 99% usually and the occassional 100%.
