when open the box, i immediately update it to v29 OTA

so what is the suggestion? stay on v29 or go for China v31?

Yup..this is what I mean. Experience with the phone is great, just abit annoy with the low memory part. Everything else, its good. It's a good phone for day to day use.

Have you received your 1S? If it is still on V27, better stick with it first since based on the feedback here, many complaints on V29. I am on V27 and luckily did not upgrade to V29 since there were problems with it. I intend to upgrade to V31 later when global version is available and if feedback stays positive. Apart from the battery drain and some minor quirks, my experience with V27 and 1S is pretty OK (for the price) and find it stable. Just my view.

updated to v35, and first thing i noticed is auto brightness not working. At all.

any fix on this?

just ordered my redmi 1s today and saw a lot of bugs mentioned here

No doubt v27 is the ideal rom...sad it is not available to flash....sigh

i can 500% confirmed 33 and above is better than 27... no doubt. but recent update to 36 i am not sure because play game a lot recently so cant compare
