Just now went test drive the city again at anothet showroom. This time, I noticed rattling sound from the rear, seems like coming from the cover behind the rear seats. Anyone else here have this sound?

There's a silver E spec in this showroom...

Maybe the noise come from the seatbelt area..

how is city V spec compared to civic 1.8? just curious.... (no troll no bash)
apart from diff segment, i know safety features is the key highlight.
*
I got chance to look at 1.8 civic when i did my 1,000km at Angkasa Motor Jln Ipoh. I got to say, City interior is much better. No offense to civic owner. You can take a look and judge for yourself. The interior of civic 1.8 is like "hard cheap plastic".

Civic 2.0 thailand already undergo minor upgrade - dashboard similar to city v specs and also 6 airbags. If you want civic, i think 2.0 is a better buy.

anyone able to pay downpayment with credit card? some branch is telling me they dont want to absorb the bank charge, therefore forcing me to pay with cheque

Normal what...RM10K x 3%=RM300 extra wei. Booking fee RM500 can use credit car lah.

i bought my ford fiesta with downpayment paid with credit card , but up to 20k.

but not sure honda can do the same...
*
I bought mine from WestStar. They allow to use Credit Card to pay booking fee (RM500) and also up to RM5k downpayment which is a big let down for me. I wanted to collect points/cashback using credit card because i put 70k dp cry.gif

Wah lau...orang kaya...pay so much DP for car....IMO, it's better to use that money to buy property and pay as DP...

Just my 2cents lah...if you already have 10 properties, probably wont be bother lor...sweat.gif..
*
I didnt want to pay so much on interest since car price depreciate. I took 20k loan 1 yr only. Don't think any bank will want to do but I took staff car loan (i work in a bank). Staff car loan is on monthly rest interest compare to the usual car loan [loan amount x 1.0xx% (interest) x tenure].

Dont want to deviate out of topic much but i will touch abit since you brought it up. Current rules make it harder to go with property investment - higher gain tax and 30% DP on 3rd property onwards. sad.gif
And...I don't have 10 properties la..more than 1..less than 5.. tongue.gif

Stupid fcuk. The maintenance schedule for all the cars are clearly written in the websites. Ok, don't service your car, EVER. See if we care. whistling.gif

Btw, here's something for you to read, to smack into that dumb face of yours.

Continental cars 25k miles.....WHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I think he is referring to colder country whereby the service interval can drag up to 25k km/1yr.

Out of curiosity, have you gotten your car Jeffreynsx?

You pay the price for quieter, more comfortable ride and excellent grip in the wet. I'll always pay the price for these...comfort and safety.  smile.gif

Too heavy? I didn't notice. Besides, I'm not boy racer on a circuit trying lap times, so no worry about a little weight. Seriously, like a little weight.

Fatter? Just a tiny bit. Think of it as extra rim guard for when I hit the curb!
*
+1. I am using PS3 on sold my original v-specs rim. Currently using OZ Racing (6.6kg) vs Ori V-Spec from Enkei (~9kg). Pickup feel the same. The only drawback is that 205 tyre potruded out a little from the arch (front only, ~less than 1cm). Arising from that, dirt will hit the side mirror/body especially when pass through wet road. New city does not come with mudguard unlike the older gen.

Besides, PS3 give you better comfort compare to original GY Excellence. I thought 50 series will give bumpy ride compare to 55 but michelin prove me wrong. According to my dad, PS3 rubber is softer so it provides comfort and excellent grip. Tayar also supposingly botak faster tongue.gif

Wider tyres sure gets more road intrusion. More noise.
Anyone here fitted 195 o 205 on stock v spec rim?
*
Stock rim can go up to 195. 6j really limit the choice of tyre. you will need 7jj for 205.

i have nothing much to mod..sked void warranty...lol.

Comfort and quiet is no. 1 priority. This is why i want to change to comfort and silent tyres...maybe later some basic soundproofing.
*
Same.

1. Did 2 layers soundproofing on all 4 doors + egg-shaped dome sound absorber on front 2 doors. STP brand.

Not only help to reduce external noise, it does boost your speaker bass. Significant improvement. Shut door also give you "duub" sound.

rolleyes.gif Poison injection to City kaki

2. Change to PS3 smile.gif

Rim about 800-900. Cant remember exact.

As for soundproofing, about Rm1.4k. Egg-shaped STP alone RM250 per door. You can opt not to do it but this stuff help to insulate against vibrating plastic door panel and metal door frame. On top of that, it helps to absorb external noise. According to Sh@rty (lyn kaki as well), there is huge difference between cheapo brand and stp even though both similarly shaped. I cannot tell for sure since never fix cheapo brand. He has video demo but i never watch it.

However, obvious difference before and after.

I think 6jj has no problem with 205 tyre. Maybe looks a bit fat only.
I fitted 235 and 265 on 6.5jj rim before. But that's 4x4 though.
*
Maybe someone can post picture of 205 tyre on 6jj rim. Currently with 7jj 205 also a little bulge. I prefer those "straight" sidewall rather than having it bulge out. I saw Civic 2.0 original 17" rim with PS3 got straight sidewall hmm.gif. However on 16", it is not so straight. Is this due to 55 series (16") vs 45 series (17")?

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ Jul 11 2014, 12:23 PM)
How much did it cost you?
And also for tyres what's the difference between ps3 and p3st ?

No idea. Never try p3st but i heard primacy series are sway towards comfort and noise compare to ps3. If not mistaken, primacy cost more than pilot sport.

Wanna get some quieter tyres. Am using Bridgestone potenza 16 inch and the noise is driving me nuts

Yokohama Advan DB?

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jul 11 2014, 12:36 PM)
Oh, you did at Sh@rty? Last time i get my pedallock from him. After reading somewhere, there's some comment that maybe doing the floor first will be better to insulate against noise, rather than doors. Limited budget...need to attack the noisest part first.
*
Currently i can't really hear outside noise much. Playing song from Youtube (in HD), with volume around 15-20 will mask out most of external noise after soundproofing. If soundproofing floor, not sure money spend will yield any significant result. Sometimes I can't hear my own "horn" also. Honda horn really "sissy".

Did you adjust the front seat height? Plenty of head space. I set mine lowest cause i prefer my seat low . Back seat also sufficient head space. Compare to vios, my head very close to hitting the roof. (i am about 175cm)
