IMHO, upgrade suspension (lowering springs or adjustable coilovers) better than spend RM1-3K on bodykit.
Bodykit is only cosmetic. Upgrading suspension improves handling and performance of the car AND looks by lowering your ride height. Just tested my City fitted with 195/50/16 tyres at Genting this week. And I can tell u guys that I'm no p*ssy at Genting roads. This car seriously needs lowering and/or anti-roll bars. Suspension upgrade can save your life, bodykit can only save your face. No offense to bodykit lovers. But if u want better actual performance, stay away from bodykits and spend that money on suspension upgrade(s). And by the way, u cannot have both, because bodykit + lowering = kraaaaack when u driver over speed humps/parking ramps This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jul 6 2014, 05:55 AM |

QUOTE(siamanggagap @ Jul 6 2014, 06:05 AM) but my opinion for our new city, the stock absorber + spring was a little bit soft. if i want to be a racer, 1st i will change the suspension system b4 changing other stuffs in my new ride. Yes, I almost lost it at the Karak highway high speed downhill "S" turn that day. |

Matrix, think of it this way...don't think of handling and performance as something that only concern raceboys...
U drive out for late night supper with wife and kids...Mat Rempits chase u, u try to outrun them to the nearest police station, but your comfortable car got shitty suspension, at a high-speed corner u understeer and/or bodyroll too much, car hit guardrail and overturn. or U turun Genting, dunno why your brake fail, overheat or whatever dunno, your comfortable suspension setting car cannot take the corners at high speed...need me continue on? Having superior mechanical grip is always better than having to rely on electronic-assisted grip. This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jul 6 2014, 06:31 AM |

QUOTE(QRG1215 @ Jul 6 2014, 07:00 AM) I'll spend my money on ICE-ing the car. Need good music for the ungodly jam around KL. haha. Wanna ask E specs door got lubang already to put tweeter or need to cut? Your door handle there got a lubang to fit tweeters. But for better sound stage/stereo effect, stick the tweeters on top of dashboard like mine. Yea it's a bit not nice to use double sided tape stick there, but usability above aesthetics for me |

QUOTE(siamanggagap @ Jul 6 2014, 12:20 PM) seriously in my opinion it was very dangerous to drive our city in high speed using the stock absorber & spring. it very comfortable for family city drive but not while speeding & cornering. at least please lowering your ride using sport spring. I was attacking the same S turn in the same manner as I did previously with Myvi (with 195/50/15 Michelin PS3 though This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jul 6 2014, 03:47 PM |

QUOTE(Jeffreynsx @ Jul 6 2014, 05:07 PM) That's high speed travel to Genting Highlands. No wonder you said it is dangerous on S turn. FYI...your car is just Honda City 1.5, not Nissan GTR R35. With this kind of speed, you able to reach home safety is consider fortunate already. That was at Karak highway S turn, KL-bound not long after u join Karak from Genting...NOT on Genting hill road. |

QUOTE(xxerton @ Jul 6 2014, 07:29 PM) Any bros able to tell if the rear speakers are meant to be very soft compared to the front on the default sound balance (middle on forward and rear setting)? If u compare/judge while seated at driver seat, of course u will feel front speakers are louder.Try open both doors and place your head right next to the speaker and compare/judge again? QUOTE(maxevil @ Jul 6 2014, 06:35 PM) Pink Spider , Pls share and show us some pic of ur ICE, bro... Huh? It's all stock...all I did was adding a decent (Hertz HT 25 neodymium) but not wallet-bombing pair of tweeters and place them on top of the dashboard right next to the pillars. Point them like, 60 degrees angle (passenger side tweeter pointing toward driver, driver side tweeter pointing toward passenger).QUOTE(Matrix @ Jul 6 2014, 05:15 PM) Friend...think of your family lah...you don't wanna end up like HIDE yah...die young for nothing... See ghost once, really scared already. Like I mentioned earlier, the smooth CVT gearbox, rev-happy engine and better sound insulation made me unknowingly sped up too much prior to the dangerous S section Like livedrive or paultan.org mentioned, this is HONDA CITY, not HONDA MOUNTAIN PASS. If you want to sapu corner fast, better buy Proton...Proton cars seriously has some of the best R&R around for normal cars which don't cost a bomb. I actually drove gentler at Genting roads and ended up reaching hilltop a lot faster than I drive like a madman behind the wheel of a 1.3 Myvi auto. Now who said that 2014 City has no pickup and felt underpowered? No struggle at at all during the uphill drive This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jul 6 2014, 08:14 PM |

QUOTE(mofisa @ Jul 7 2014, 12:37 PM) i'm facing rattling issue at the front passenger door..other no problem. love the car but like others mention the handling is decent. and of course for me my stock satria neo handling is way better than this city..haha Yes, stock Satria Neo and Gen.2 has superb handling, cornering can be done almost with the body flat. |
