QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Sep 16 2014, 01:41 AM) Thanks for the steps. Yeap, after choosing Option 1, system will prompt for IC, followed by CC number, and lastly, phone number. Called in and tried too, will update in this thread once I get my request outcome. On a separate note, I recently swiped my OCBC card for a RM13k housing deposit downpayment and later converted it to EPP. Maths worked out to 5+% interest which I thought was pretty decent. Surprised to find out that my RM13k EPP is also entitled for the 1% rebate, thus, my effective interest rate is only 4+%. Awesome!!!! QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Sep 16 2014, 01:04 PM) Yeah, kind of expected that. But my inner me tells me that I should still try, nothing to lose.... :-) OCBC is very fast in this...I normally will received 2 sms together when swipe for big amount... 1 is the usual sms alert and 2 is the offer to convert to easy payment.Rarely use this card too so no real reason for them to waive my GST. 95% of my usage goes to my Maybank 2 Card. I called before and the CS told, 2% if 5 mth repayments; 3% for 10mth; 5% for 20mth. And no more 1% CB. Since you have MBB cc, why didn't you BT to MBB with 0% interest for 12 mth? Ever since I found out there are such 0% BT schemes (by MBB, AEON and PBB), I feel much relief even though there were no 0% EPP provided by the merchants/banks during my swiping. Just swipe and BT when statement is out. No sweat. This post has been edited by tbheng: Sep 17 2014, 12:30 AM |

QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Sep 17 2014, 04:13 PM) Wow, didn't know that there are banks that offer 0% interest for 12 months. Tried and tested before? No gimmicks? Always had the impression that there are alot of underlying T&Cs or hidden cost involved...LOL Tried many times with PBB and AEON. 0 charges.Bought some furnitures recently...big hole in my pocket... Ouch! Traditional furniture shop not accepting Amex, swipe with my trusted ocbc TMC for unlimited 1% CB. And I will BT to AEON and then to MBB when I get my next statement. Keeping my cold hard cash safe in FD... This post has been edited by tbheng: Sep 17 2014, 04:42 PM |

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Sep 18 2014, 11:07 PM) u mean BT will only approve based on transaction history and not outstanding ? I still think if you have transactions on both cards should be fine to BT the BT amount and the current amount QUOTE(victorywp @ Sep 18 2014, 11:20 PM) i mean if you bt 10k to mbb first, it will be divided to 12 months equally, so your outstanding in your next mbb statement would be 833.33 only. so when you bt to aeon, you don't get 10k aeon points immediately but need to accumulate 833 points per month for 12 months to get the full 10k points. which is why i would suggest to bt to aeon first, then only to mbb, and back to aeon. Thanks to victorywp for helping to reply question to me from DarReNz. 1) spend 12k with ocbc cc 2) bt the 12k from ocbc to aeon cc 0% for 6 months (earn 12k points immediately, which is rm48 in value) 3) bt the 2k monthly from aeon to mbb cc 0% for 12 months 4) bt the 166 monthly + your other mbb outstanding (to make it at least rm1k) from mbb to aeon cc 0% for 6 months (earn 1k point per month again) by doing this, you will not pay any of the 12k out of your pocket, at least for the first few months. but you will be earning aeon points with cash value + the flexibility to invest the 12k elsewhere. victorywp is absolutely right. I always BT to AEON first and then only BT the AEON monthly installment to PBB or MBB. Then BT again the monthly installments from PBB/MBB back to AEON. I have not pay a single cc statements for the last 6 months. Also means I have not paid a single sen for all my cc swipes for the last 6 months! |

Need confirmation from all the sifu here...
I planned to swipe big sum, e.g. 30k above my CL for investment. If I do IBG 10k on 3 consecutive days, can I swipe it on day 4? i.e. as soon as IBG get through to ocbc, the available CL will be increased? Wooho for the unlimited 1% CB. EDIT: Or I can go to branch and request IBG one time over the counter, what will be the limit and charges? This post has been edited by tbheng: Nov 30 2014, 11:38 AM |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Nov 30 2014, 02:43 PM) for cimb can ibg up to 30k a day. if follow your plan, yes, you may swipe on the 4th day (provided the 3rd day ibg done not too late - you may refer to the ibg time schedule). Thanks for your reply.I may just visit Maybank branch to do one time IBG over the counter. Wonder what is the limit at the counter and charges like? |

QUOTE(cristiano7mu @ Dec 18 2014, 09:50 AM) yup its listed in the statement just above the 12/12 rebate line... fyi the transaction is a hospital payment.... You may have to call CS to find out why and share with us the mystery. Must be a mistake from ocbc. Otherwise your case can serve as a warning to all other card holders here. So far I have not encountered any missing 1% CB. Recently, I swiped a 10k investment end of last month and gotten RM100 CB in this month statement. And I put it through 0% BT to AEON can get another RM40 worth of cash credit points. The investment is kinda high risk, I have requested for refund. When the 10k refunded, I will put into FD for further gains. Milking it out from the monetary systems. This post has been edited by tbheng: Dec 18 2014, 10:59 AM |

For hospital bill, I use Amex, 5x TP is 2% equivalent value, better than ocbc 1% CB. Unless you do not have MB2Card.If weekend, better still with 5% CB. |

QUOTE(bee993 @ Dec 18 2014, 01:48 PM) only if the refund is paid to u by cash or cheque. if credit back to cc rebate will be claw back too. Most refund of these sorts I have seen are by cheque. (Have confirmed and awaiting for cheque...)It has appeared in statement and already been BT out. So even if it credited back, I will request to transfer to CASA and IBG out FD. I remembered a couple of years back, one merchant told that unless it is cancelled on the spot, if it is posted then cannot do cancellation (i.e. credit back to credit card). I was trying to ask them to charge to my other card instead, on the following day. This post has been edited by tbheng: Dec 18 2014, 02:21 PM |
