yeah, i received somewhere in mid july. but i decided not to go this time because i already received invitation 3 times prior to this (and i went twice already). lol...

by right one person only can be invited by ghhs once in his lifetime. they have a record in their system.

so you just need to go and listen 60 minutes to the staff persuading you to join their membership. at the end of the day, either you join or not, you will still get the gifts.

note: the membership price cost rm20k+ and above...
*
go individually or must go with partner ?

if go individual still can get free gift ar?

No more RM50 GST after april 2015.
Sorry, news in chinese.

Thanks for the clarification, guys. The transactions were done a day after the GST was billed, so I was not aware of that. When will the next time the GST will be billed again? Next year Aug/Sept? Need to take notice of that
*
your GST billed on what date + 1 year... Eg: GST billed on 12/09/2014... next year will be billed around 12/09/2015... better cancel it 1 month earlier...

avoid use mobile banking thru apps for now...
http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014...-malware-virus/

KUALA LUMPUR: Scammers are not just phishing on the Internet, now mobile phone users are also targeted with a malware virus dubbed Zeus.

The scammers send text and WhatsApp messages containing just an Internet link.

When mobile phone users click on the link, the virus is installed on their phones.

Zeus, which is activated when the user performs Internet banking, presents a fake Internet page.

Instead of the regular home page of the bank, several pop-up windows appear, requiring the user to fill in their personal details.

After this, the phone will be synced with the scammers’ computers, enabling them to obtain details such as the transaction authorisation code (TAC).

Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department deputy director Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Hamza Taib said at least eight people had lost more than RM59,000 this month to the scam.

“One victim lost RM10,000. Most of the cases occurred in the Klang Valley,” he told a press conference yesterday.

He explained that those vulnerable to the malware were the ones using BlackBerry and with phones running the Android and Symbian operating systems.

“One of the ways to prevent this is to constantly scan the phones using an anti-virus program. Once infected, the only way is to reset the phone,” he said.

He said victims discovered they were targeted when banks sent notifications about financial transactions.

He said the police had already tracked down an account number belonging to a syndicate.

“We hope to catch the syndicate members soon.”

In a separate case, eight men were detained for being involved in a spoofing scam.

CCID officers stumbled upon the syndicate following a raid on an apartment in Jalan Alor on Sept 10.

SDCP Hamza said the syndicate duped its victims by informing them that they had won a travel holiday package to New Zealand and Australia worth US$150,000 (RM486,000).

“The victims were required to pay a certain amount to claim the prize.

“The suspects, aged between 25 and 31, have been questioned and released on police bail,” he said.

Not sure for OCBC... here is what we can get from Alliance FAQ... if all banks using same standard policy, there is no RM50 GST after 1st april 2015.
http://www.alliancebank.com.my/GoodsAndServicesTax/FAQ

CREDIT CARD / DEBIT CARD / ATM CARD
Will Credit Card Service Tax RM50 be imposed on my credit card after GST is implemented?
GST will replace the RM50 Credit Card Service Tax effective 1st April 2015.

I just paid RM50 for Credit Card Service Tax on 25.03.2015, will you prorate the fee with the implementation of GST from 1st April 2015 and refund the balance?
GST will not be charged on annual fees that have already been subject to the RM50 Credit Card Service Tax paid prior to 1st April 2015. GST will only be applied upon the due date of the next annual fee.

If my credit/debit/ATM card annual fee is waived, will I still be charged GST?
No, there is no GST charge on the waived annual fee.

If I am a non-Malaysian making purchases using the Bank's credit/debit/ATM card? Am I still subjected to 6% GST?
Yes, all banking services rendered and conducted in Malaysia are subjected to GST. You will be subjected to GST at the standard rate for the fees and other related charges e.g. annual fee, cash advance/ withdrawal fee and card replacement fee.

It is pretty OK these days, a lot of merchants have started accepting AmEx. Even if it is not widely accepted, it is still accepted somewhere.
UOB is really a useless card, I have terminated it on my 3rd month of using it.

Been promoting M2Cards to my friends and family members, all of them are so happy with it. biggrin.gif

Managed to redeem vouchers and getting discounts from certain merchants that have promotion for Maybank.

c)  Maybank 2 Cards - 5% CB on weekends when u use Amex. Cap at RM50

d) Hong Leong Fortune - also gives 1% CB cap at RM50 But gives annual usage bonus
