QUOTE(supersound @ Nov 13 2014, 06:42 PM) It is a good news? I don't think so. Just say previous year you spent rm36000, that's rm3000 a month in average. if you don't have to pay any gst for the card, it is still some cash back to be earned when all other cards has been maxed out and amex is not accepted. If rm3000, I'll be getting at least 2 bank's cards, Maybank's dual card and HLB's STUPID card. Break it down to rm2000 spent by MBB's, that's rm50 a month and 10000TP(assuming all transactions are done using AMEX), every 2.5 months you can use the TP and get rm105 cash voucher from AeonBig, ~rm500 a year of cash vouchers you'll be getting, spending rm24000 and you are getting something like rm550+500, that's rm1050 or 4.375% of cash back, still way more than OCBC's 1 %. Not even added STUPID's cash back, if added all together, that's total of rm2040 of cash back you are getting or 5.67% when you spent rm36000. When they reduce the cash back from 5% to 1%, I kept it for another 2 months and cancel it. that is the only reason i kept the card. |

i just got my july statement, i only have 2 transactions.
one for insurance and one for online transaction. cash rebate for everything is 0.1%. so i called up the CS to check why my online transaction is only 0.1% rebate. the answer i got is, you will get 0.1% for everything in your first statement after the transaction. the balance 0.9% cash rebate for online transaction will only be credited in the NEXT statement for eligible transactions. i will check my august statement and update if that is really the case. |
