I didn't know OCBC working hours is until 10pm, I just called them 5 minutes ago.
Will call again tomorrow. I think I will keep the OCBC Ti and add another GE Plat? Or is it a wiser move to only keep one card? Does GE Plat's 1% rebate also cover online purchases? Just like current Ti? Wanna reduce the useless cards in my wallet for me to have higher credibility to apply for other better cards. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 28 2015, 10:16 PM |

QUOTE(noien @ Apr 28 2015, 11:28 PM) just keep and add another. u don even need to bring it out as swiping it is only wasting of cb I don't know, I have too many cards now. put it in the drawer and only use it when u need to purchase something i thought they don bother about how many card u have on a bank. even u have 3cards from ocbc is still consider as 1. no ? Maybe I will just keep but seeing those seasoned cardholders in this thread cancelled their Ti and replaced with GE Plat makes me think twice as well. |

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 29 2015, 02:42 PM) My Card anniversary month is Sept and last year I was charged rm50 GST. First and foremost, card anniversary is in September, why is it you are being charged with GST now? Secondly, there is no more GST after 1st April... Today when I login my OCBC online I notice that OCBC has just reverse this amount. Wonder this is their tactic of retaining customer? Not a tactic to retain customer, it is either to trick customers or a glitch in their system. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 29 2015, 02:52 PM |

Finally, after holding for more than 7 minutes, my call was attended by an agent.
I was thinking to keep the OCBC Ti, but I asked further about GE Plat's 1% retail CB. He said it includes of everything which means online as well. Then, I requested to change from Ti to GE Plat, no point keeping Ti anymore though the design is nicer. |

QUOTE(mustang @ Apr 29 2015, 09:13 PM) Just curious if you have both cards (Ti + GE). The cashback will be separate between the 2 cards right? Meaning you will get 1%* of Ti (online transactions) + 1%* of GE (all transactions). In this case. holding 2 cards will be the better option since no GST fee incurred and they share the same credit limit? Yes, that said I will put the least priority to OCBC card when it comes to spending. So, I don't think I will want to hold another card that basically doesn't really useful.*Up to RM1000 spending Thanks |

QUOTE(fuu @ Apr 30 2015, 08:41 AM) Just a phone call will do? Need to re-submit documents? the 1% rebate is for RM1,000 only right? After RM 1,000 then no more rebates apply? No need to resubmit any documents but they might request for payslips if they want to. Since it's an upgrade from Titanium to Platinum. After RM 1k will be 0.5%. |

QUOTE(hkboey @ Apr 30 2015, 09:08 AM) It depends. They never ask any document for my conversion, but for my wife, they call up the following day to ask for documents. Oh, so it's not like Ti? Ti's cash rebate revision will take effect from 1st May.1% rebate for everything from now until 30th June 2015 1st Jul onwards, first Rm1000 is 1%, the rest will be 0.5% rebates. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Apr 30 2015, 09:47 AM) the announcement PDF stated it clearly, right? Honestly speaking, I was only focusing on OCBC Ti, God knows what GE Plat is. http://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Cards/Cr...uncement_v2.pdf Only recently thinking to convert, else I won't bother to keep OCBC anymore. |

QUOTE(hkboey @ Apr 30 2015, 11:22 AM) thats why you need to convert as soonest possible then you can enjoy another 2 months of 1% rebates for everything. Yes, already put in the application yesterday.Unfortunately, by default it will send to my home address and I requested it to change to my office address but the office address in their system is still the old details. To update it, it takes another 2-3 working days. I'm expecting to get everything sorted out only in the week of 11th May, since there is long holidays in between as well. Thanks to you all for the suggestions. |

Just now one lady called from OCBC and required income documents and employment confirmation letter from my employer. She said she will also send the declaration form for me to fill up and I will need to reply all documents to her by this week, until now... Nothing in my email inbox yet.
Mine is a conversion from Ti to GE Plat. |

The new credit limit is 10k additional of my OCBC Ti. |

I think this topic should be renamed to OCBC credit cards thread since OCBC Ti is no longer that attractive.
Anyway, for those who have received the GE Plat MasterCard, does it look like the one advertised on its page? ![]() Or black colour? I checked my OCBC Online, it shows black colour... |
