amex acceptance is one thing.

another thing is its cb only capped at rm50. if i need to swipe anything bigger than 5k, ocbc tmc still better.
*
if can then use aeon watami
3% for all except petrol. but max CB is only Rm150 for 3 months.
so after 1 swipe then can stop.haha

no choice lor. It's BNM's directive.

What banks can do is offer signup rebate promotions to get us stay for 1 year.

you need to do some rough calculations of your spending behavior whether your annual cashback is > RM50.

OCBC's is 1% unlimited cashback but need to spend at least RM5k just to break-even (year 2 and onwards). Good if you always have large spending but even that, Aeon Watami is still better than OCBC's.
*
the cons of watami is they need 3k spend quarterly. sad.gif

3k per quarter, 1k per month. better than OCBC's 1% if you're always spending about that range (hence i stated earlier ... "Good if you always have large spending")
*
yes. but my salary is still low.

dont rush for credit card. there are logical reasons why BNM set the min. income; helping you and the bank.

try some decent basic card (or even debit card like RHB's or CIMB's) for convience, not chasing cashback/reward cuz ultimately you still to repay back to bank for the actual spending anyway.

what card(s) are you holding now?
*
HSBC,OCBC
alliance and public just for the free gift. not using

previously apply so many times just because it is the best.

haha
the last 2 is to cancel after 6months.
OCBC is to keep at least it is good for big transaction.
HSBC since they waive my gst so no problem keeping for another.
thinking of getting AMEX to replace but with since they change the gst to RM100 instead of RM50 then i m still thinking.

Do share on the "closed room lesson" pls...  icon_idea.gif

I used for monthly petrol, phone bill and groceries... nicely cover 1k.

But for extra shopping, One Card just a let down, probably cz the rebate also on Petrol, groceries and stuff... I only get around RM10+ rebate for 1.8k last 2 month.  vmad.gif
Watami vs PBB card?
*
one card is just useless with the cap.
PBB visa signature is good
for high amount (around 1k) per month. get watami

this year's november havent reach and you're worried about nxt year's november?  sweat.gif

by the time GST enforced on 1 April 2015, credit card service tax would be abolished.
slight off-topic, now i see why Maybank2cards enfored 2X RM50 svc tax beginning July 2014. It is a ~1-year strategy until next April 2015 before they dont have to collect for Govt anymore (and absorb 1X RM50 for existing mbb2cards users).
*
CC will be charge 6% next year too?
that would be double charge isnt it? blink.gif

no la..no 6%

as for whether the GST for cc is going to be abolish or not, nothing to stop the government from renaming it to other name and still impose RM50, if they want.

oo.thanx for the explanation
