QUOTE(tifosi @ Dec 23 2014, 10:06 AM) I did. There's an appeal template by me on the first page there will be no more RM50 Government Service Tax on CC after 1 April 2015But why do you want OCBC so badly? I wanna cancel it when my GST is coming. There will be a 6% Goods and Service Tax to be imposed on the Annual Fee charged by Banks But Titanum got to Annual Fee - no worries But the STUP1D RM50 Government Service will not be refunded on prorata basis |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 23 2014, 11:55 AM) march 2015 have to wait and see.with the GST on annual fee, can we expect no annual fee waiver anymore (for cards with AF) since the GST will be payable to the government. Our govt has never paid attention to details. So many things in GST is not certain, if bank waive AF, can the GST be deemed not need to pay? |

Just got my SMS.
Fork me. Every year I swipe so much. So which is the best replacement card. I swipe on average 2k++ per mth and RM15K per year for Insurance Plan Maybank for insurance is only 2x reward points. Is essential the best. Suddenly they also revise down. Now pray AEON Watami don't revise downward Wonder will their World Card waive the annual fees This post has been edited by cfa28: Apr 8 2015, 01:20 PM |

Maybe applying 2 Great Eastern Card is better for the family.
Each card spend RM1K per mth. Apply HLB Essential for bulk purchase |

QUOTE(~Eveready~ @ Apr 10 2015, 01:48 PM) BTW, I saw this in the OCBC GE card TnC: Yes, I already called and you must have either GE or OAC policy before you can apply for this co brand credit card"Only for policyholders of GE Life and OAC Assurance 1. The GE Co-brand Card is only issued to eligible applicants who hold any currently valid insurance policies by GE Life and/or Overseas Assurance Corporation (Malaysia) Berhad" Does this mean that we must be GE policy holder before applying/converting to this card? |

Just send OCBC a complaints letter.
Extract of my complain letter. = = The latest revision of the benefits to just 0.1% Cash Back on local retail spending from previous 1% is indeed very disappointing and tantamount to insulting the intelligence of your customers who would still spend using this Titanium Card for local retail spending.   What is more disappointing is that we have been informed by other cardholders’ who have called your Customer Line that OCBC does have a replacement Card to offer called the OCBC 365 which offers 1% Cash Back for First RM1,000 spend and 0.5% Cash Back thereafter. Your OCBC website states that the OCBC 365 comes with First Year Annual Fee waived for the First Year with subsequent year being charged an Annual Fee of RM100. However, Titanium Cardholders who called your Customer Service have been informed that the Annual Fee waiver is only for New Customers and existing OCBC Titanium customers will be charged RM100 annual fee on activation of the OCBC 365 card.  This clearly shows that OCBC DOES NOT appreciate its existing Titanium cardholders and is asking them to take their business elsewhere. It is market practice that Credit Card companies always waive the Annual Fee for the first year; if OCBC Titanium cardholders apply from any of your competitors, the Annual Fee for the first year would be waived.  Is this how OCBC rewards its existing Titanium cardholders? OCBC should offer the OCBC 365 to current Titanium cardholders and waive the Annual Fee for life. == Anyone managed to obtain annual fee waiver for the HLB essential. Hope HLB does not change their benefits cos Charles Sik previously from OCBC is now with HLB.  |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 12 2015, 12:43 PM) Just saw GE Plat is only 1% if spend at least RM 1k. AEON watami gives 3% cash back every quarter subject to:I hardly spend RM 1k on my OCBC Ti, it makes more sense for me to terminate my current Ti and not changing to GE Plat. Maybe I really need to go for Aeon Watami already... Was quite reluctant due to its design. a) min spend of RM 3K per quarter; and b) capped at Max spend of RM5k per quarter If u can't spend 3k per quarter, forget about watami. You get ZERO cash back. Just reward points. Better of with OCBC, 1% for first 1k per mth. |

QUOTE(carlitofreak @ Apr 14 2015, 07:30 AM) Im in shanghai atm and will back to Malaysia tomorrow. Sorry to hear what happened to you but it is unlikely for the bank to believe you, unless you have very strong evidence such as Court Orders from China or at least the proof that the culprits have been arrested and charge in court for extortion against you.Two days ago Iong story short, I've been arrested by the so called Mafias/gangsters at Shanghai Downtown and been asked to pay RM15000 if want them to let u go. But I dont have such amount. So they take all my credit card and charged it until each credit card limit. So the damage was almost RM5000 from my OCBC card and RM4000 from my maybank card. I've been forced to sign the payment slip with a knife shown at me. So yesterday I went to Malaysia Embassy in Shanghai to seek protection and to ask their advise because the mafias/gangsters have all my details captured i.e. my passport, my ic, my hotel address, my fb and few pics on my phone and been asked not to make a police report. So been told by The Embassy officer that in china their system is different. They will not simply release u a police report unless its major crime involving death etc. Mine consider minor (WTF??) So now is it possible for me to make a report police in Malaysia in order for me to file the transaction for dispute? Will police report in Malaysia valid for such claim? Anyone have been in this kind of situation before? So headache. Haihhh Banks have heard many stories from borrowers who do not want to pay, so at back of their head, you are trying to avoid paying for some impusive pirchase |

QUOTE(propusers @ Apr 16 2015, 09:56 AM) hmm... I need a new CC with unlimited cash back 1% or above.... Other than Essential Card, other cards with CB areseem like only HL Essential can meet my requirement. Any other good suggestion? a) Aeon Watami - 3% CB every quarter subject to min spent of 3k and capped at 5k b) Hong Leong Wise - 10% CB capped at RM100 but need 10x usage and only for selected categories c) Maybank 2 Cards - 5% CB on weekends when u use Amex. Cap at RM50 d) Hong Leong Fortune - also gives 1% CB cap at RM50 But gives annual usage bonus 38k or more - RM280 68K or more - RM880 108k or more - RM1,800 This post has been edited by cfa28: Apr 16 2015, 12:09 PM |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Apr 16 2015, 02:34 PM) Huh...!! how come the CS told me once GE card activated, Ti will automatically become invalid. They gave me wrong info ?? An existing card cannot be terminated just cos you apply for another card unless your salary is below 3k and you are only eligible for 2 cards. This is a conversion and not additional card wor ?? You have to call in and cancel the previous titanium card. |
