Came back from a guitar show up north yesterday and managed to see 4 iconic vintage LesPauls all together in a rare occasion. This will probably never happen again.
I was a lucky few to even hold the Kossoff LesPaul and see the rest up close. All the scratches and dings on it got so much history and stories. They were played and compared on stage.

There were other new and second hand guitars on the show. Will post those shortly if you guys want to see it.

Here are the pictures of the LesPauls.

Videos? yup, here it is. There were sound clipping as I was sitting too close.

Greenie on stage

and the Kossoff

Sound wise live, I much prefer Greenie's tone.

I agree. How does Kossoffs LP feels? Did you play the Greenie as well?

yeah, that's why you get the out of phased sound, also the magnet has been reversed.

The Kossoff is surprising light, feels almost the weight as my CC4 which is about 3.1kg. The neck is comfortable but man it was super aged. Obviously is neck was broken off before as well. The best thing is they weren't treated like museum pieces but still well cared for.

Proves that LPs does not have to be weighty to sounds right.

Some interesting points: all these famous LPs seems to have weird intonation setups.. and the Kossoffs has protruding ball ends at the tail piece. I wonder why..

I think these LPs are more to aesthetical and historical value.

Not much about playability and sound, compared to other LPs on the market.

Haha. We guitarist sometimes take it too far and want to compare like its the specs of the latest computer chip.
Albums can la.... my opinion is end of the day how its applied to the music overall.

comparing computer chips would seem as a more "normal" endeavor,

i mean if during recording, one of the guitars had a different pickup selector cover, it would change the tone and playability

right?
