Alright, I'm at the verge of leaving DLSR system after about 2 years plus, I really don't like the weight and I do some professional work - portrait, event etc...

My problem here is, should I leave DSLR and go full mirrorless system ? Is there any pro here that shoots with mirrorless system ? Or should I own both ?

and ...

So here goes the a6000 vs XE 2 - Yes, I'm yet to personally try out the XE-2 and I also have a7 in my mind as well cause the XE-2 is quite close to the a7's price. I shoot nearly all type of subjects and I know both of them is really good for any types of photography other than sports and underwater lol ... icon_question.gif

I think getting the XE2 will save you quite a sum compared to getting the A7 IMO... As a fuji user, I can testify to the fact that Fujifilm produces some really nice and fast prime glasses. If AF isn't a priority to you, then perhaps the XE2 will be a better choice vs the a6000 simply because of the performance of the X-trans. But the a6k has really good AF and definitely way better video capabilities than the XE2 I think..

I hardly use video mode on my DSLr so I think it's not really needed, AF, yeah a6000 is really cool but I don't really need such speed tongue.gif Hmm, as a Fuji user, how often do you use the xe2's wifi function ? Do you think the cheaper XE-1 is better ? Save up some bucks for lenses ?

don't think the price of xe2 is close to the a7, if you mean a6000 instead, then yes.

a cheap FF body means nothing when the glasses are super expensive.

agree with ^. fuji x has quite a nice lens lineup for decent prices and the image quality from the lenses are amazing.
i think a7 almost double of xe2 body only?

about your question on the wifi function. do you instagram a lot? or maybe wish to whatsapp or Facebook your photos as soon as possible. if yes then you'll find yourself using the wifi a lot. SOOC just upload to instagram the quality is really good.

if not, you can opt for the x100s which is just a bit more than xe2 body only but don't have to worry about lenses. the 23mm lens on the x100s is perfect for everyday use. even me, I've been using 23mm for almost 6months now even though shooting on X-Pro1/X-T1

go for xe2. fuji x user here who moved from DSLR system. no regrets.

XE-1 for 1.4 K is a good steal for you ? Would you rather pay more for not much difference over IQ for XE-2 or save up for primes ?

I use the XT1 so I can't comment for the XE2 (planning to downgrade soon though). But from my experience with the wifi, not really good. I think it's more of a problem with my Nexus 4 than the camera though. Very glitchy app.

If you don't need the speed, I'd recommend Fuji because fuji produces really good images and has a really good high ISO performance and the lenses are really top notch.

Tried the xe1 and currently own the sexy-2. The contrast + phase detection in xe2 is faster and more accurate though. Plus it has the wifi capability which you'll be using. Using it on my Xperia Z with no issues so far. The screen is larger too, you will appreciate the improved size if you view the lcd often.

Just an extra warning. I used an X-E1 before and while I can't comment on its improvements after the firmware updates, I do know that one big advantage of the X-E2 over the X-E1 is that the EVF refresh rate is much better in the X-E2! (basically what that means is that it will have less lag through the viewfinder)

ken rockwell loves almost everything.. so read his reviews with a pinch of salt...

btw.. i ditched my nikon D800E and trinity lenses for a Fuji XT-1...

nikon jpegs r so so... the RAWs need post processing (PP) (as do all raws and ayam lazy to PP vacation pics)

most fuji jpegs can be used out of the SD card without PP

but do note that fast fuji zooms (f2.8) with weather sealing (WS) will only come out later this year..

all current fuji lenses are non WS and XE-1 is non WS too..
