I'm using Alienware x51, 2nd gen intel processor. Will it functions properly?
Also, it there a need to modify bios settings or smth?

May I ask how to know if it is locked/unlocked? I installed an SSD to my laptop and it worked fine though if it helps.

In case manufacturer lock the bios, it would need a BIOS modding.

Warranty is DOA i.e. replacement if it's dead on arrival
For certain lenovo and HP model, manufacturers lock the BIOS.
You would get modded BIOS to get the card detected as work around.

bought a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Card from Ronald because my WiFi card for a Sony Vaio Fit svf15n17cxb was faulty.
Recommended seller, made the transaction possible even though he was overseas. quick reply and reasonable priced.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, Ronald gave troubleshooting and product advises.

I already installed it on Asus G551JW gaming laptop and it gives me a good impression and works perfectly. No need to adjust the bios. After the installation, just connect with the wifi that you normally use but if got password, need to re-insert it again. You also may update the driver in device manager. Thanks seller.

I have seen in forums that Lenovo has white listed bios where non lenovo part will/might not work.

You will probably need a whitelisted bios. Still there is no guarantee that this adapter will work correctly.
A modded BIOS hack would allow this to work on Lenovo laptop.

Wifi Module work great with Lenovo Ideapad Y480 after modded the BIOS firmware. my notebook right now support ac bandwidth up to 300Mbps under Maxis Home Fibre.

Some HP has white list bios, which block 3rd party hardware.
Please check on HP forum if your laptop is included in white list.

If there is the case, you would need a flash of bios to run 3rd party hardware.
